Occasional black screens (not crash)

So I started replaying Space Marine today; however every so often when in gameplay (no discernible pattern) the screen will go black and audio will cut out. The game is still responsive - HUD is still there, pause button works, damage indicators appear - just black video and no audio. The workaround is to reload checkpoint.
I'm playing at 1920 x 1080 on Win11. Has anyone come across this / found a fix?
