Downloaded, extracted file, copied to game folder, no difference. :(
So, I'm having issues.
It was working and now when I try to launch the game it changes resolution, I hear the 'Sega' sound it seems to just crash and then nothing but a SM icon on my desktop.
I tried the dll fix by following your instructions and have also tried verifying the game which keeps telling me two files need fixing.
I've tried that on numerous occasions with no joy.
So, just to clarify. The folder the dll file should go will also have other dll files such as...
dbghelp.dll
steam_api.dll
As well as the Space Marine launch icon?
Is that the correct folder?
Any help or advice would be very welcome.
Once you get to that file how do you alter the config file to the right resolution?
Option 1- which require a restart (annoying)
1. Set number of processors to 8
2. On Windows desktop click Start and in the search bar type msconfig.
3. Click on the Boot tab and click Advanced options...
4. Check Number of processors and in the drop down menu select 8.
5. Click OK and restart your computer for changes to take effect.
Option 2- A more streamlined option
1. Download the Windows ADK.
2. During installation, it gives the option to select multiple tools; the only one needed is Compatibility Administrator.
3. Once installed, open the Start Menu folder named Windows Kits, and launch Compatiblity Administrator (32-bit).
4. Select the new database under custom databases.
5. Click the database menu > Create New > Application Fix.
6. Provide the full path of SpaceMarine.exe and give it a name of choosing.
7. Skip past the compatibility mode options.
8. In compatibility fixes select ProcessorCountLieForHybridCPU.
9. With ProcessorCountLieForHybridCPU selected click parameters and put 8 into the command line field then click ok.
10. Save the database from the Database menu and give it a name when prompted.
Select File > Install. Now the fix will automatically be applied whenever the game is launched.
I hope this works for you.
