When I try to launch the game this happens. What should I do to make it work again?

I solved it by going into the games folder\redist\directx\dxsetup.exe. Windows 10; bug splat error. Already used dxwebsetup to get legacy files, this kind of thing is common with directx games. So if its a steam game, and you have problems launching it, go into its redist folder do them as required. This directx thing is common, I researched it a while ago, and its cause there are many variants of the same essential files. All steam games that I have required to look for a redist folder have one. It is in it local directory which you can browse to from the properties right click context menu.

I have this same problem, but from what I'm reading from your response, I don't see a solution. So what did you do to solve this issue?

Did a local cache verify file check and the problem seems to have gone away.

as it says, find the redist folder for the game and manually install the dxsetup, that fixed it for me, the one in the games redist folder, not any other one including dxwebsetup solved this, only the one in the games redist folder...
