my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5950X (I make that precision, because it's the origin of the problem, you'll see) ... that CPU has 16 cores, separated in two CCX of 8 cores each
so, at some point I just thought, okay, maybe it's a compatibility problem with that architecture (I had tested almost everything before that, like compatiblity modes, CPU affinity, etc) ... I then launched Ryzen Master, set it to Gaming Mode (only one CCX enabled and so only 8 cores), rebooted the PC and tried to launch the game
... oh, sweet computer magic : the game ran flawlessly, everything was back to normal
so I just ask a little something to the devs, please, can you give us a patch/update that will make that game playable with multiple CCX CPUs ... c'mon, please ^^
having to change settings, reboot computer, just to play a certain game is really a pain in the arse
This is it. I had this same issue and did exactly what you posted and it worked. Dawn of War II has this issue as well, because when I did this Dawn Of War II worked
glad to see that my 'trick' helped you ^^
