If your game instantly crashes to desktop at launch then you should run the game in compatibility mode with Windows Vista SP2 or XP SP3.


2# Red Faction: Armageddon nVidia/ATI Performance Fix
Those of you who are trying to run the game may end up on receiving end of some serious performance issues as the game doesn’t really makes the best use of DirectX 11. Infact, some of you may experience low performance due to that, quickfix for now is to run the game in DirectX 9.

If you are have nVidia graphics card, you should probably use WHQL 275.33 drivers for the best performance. While for ATI, you can download these ATI Hotfix drivers to resolve your performance issues.


3# Red Faction: Armageddon Sound Fix
If you are experience no sound or very low sound, you can set the your sound options in your sound manager to stereo instead of 2.1/5.1/7.1 sound output to fix the sound issues with the game.


4# Red Faction: Armageddon Corrupted Save Fix
If you are not saving the game manually, make sure you do since if the game crashes, all of your autosaves will be corrupted and you may no longer be able to continue your game.

If you are experiencing slow gameplay, lag, and stuttering while playing Red Faction: Armageddon, just drop down AA few notches to make the game smoother.

the problem could be more than one even though you do not notice it, try to update your video cards, or another solution as your issue may be a combination of 2. Feel free to comment again after u have tried each solution. Another problem i encountered with this game was that it would constantly crash on big monitors like tvs, going into windowed and lowing the graphics.

I tried them (at least the ones that apply for my rig and situation), but it is Steams fault. I think the CEG part (Custom executable generation, copy protection) causes the crash on Win XP systems. Original exe files => crash while system initalize, "custom" exe files on same system in same game folder => i was able to finish the game without any crash and a smooth framerate.

Yeah, but i also wanna play with the original game exe because the custom steam free ones do not allow MP, COOP or achievement :/.

dude trust me, no one plays coop, i go on everyday about 3 times to check, the multiplayer is dead, i wouldn't be concerned about it

i dont realy know what to do the game crach about 60% of the time there is a cutseen the weard s that if i tun the game again it works fine frome the last aouto save and the cutseen woorks asvel but all my stats and skills is gone. i have tried to reinstal the whole game once but it did not help. i have windows 8 and the game works amasing exept this :/

Could someone make this a sticky?
My game kept crashing on the first mission when you fight the spider tank thing, and this thread solved the issue (run EXE in Windows XP Sp3 compatability mode as admin).

I love that in-game looks better than cinematics, lol! I have this for both 360 and PC. :)

I get it with new game +. Nothing works. Even though I own this on the 360, and that works fine, this is frustrating.

ok i found a workaround on a diferent post page 2 post #38 downloaded that persons save package put the relevant files in the correct locations and it works you are able to load the game from the begining bypassing the newgame http://steamcommunity.com/app/55110/discussions/0/357286119111467828/
using that workaround will alow you to load the first auto save right at the opening movie it worked for me once i put the save files in the remote folder and in the 55110 folder you put the remotecache.vdf file
