VAC Ban & the FOV Fix

Hi there, had this game in my library since release, haven't played until now. Call me spoiled, but the default FOV/camera is unplayable. I've been using the FOV fix from PCGW so far with no issues, but noticed there was a warning about multiplayer and the fix possibly resulting in a VAC ban.

I've got one from another game by using hacks in single-player in the past, so I'm a little worried I'll get a ban using the fix. Looking around on the forums and other places, I see a lot of warnings not to play online with the fix and the like, but no verifications of actual VAC bans. A lot of the people who said they were good actually do have bans, but it doesn't show from which game.

Am I good? Anyone have verification if the FOV hack is bannable? Thanks.

did you find out? also which game got you banned in single player? O_O

Im gonna remove this game if it cant be played with the fov fix. it's literally unplayable, like 30-35 degrees.

I gave up, honestly, sorry man. It was Modern Warfare 2, I cheated in Spec Ops or whatever you call it. Sorry, and from what I hear this game isn't really worth it if you like RF1/Guerrilla.

The FOV in this game is beyond terrible, it's one of the worst i've seen (what is it like 40? I use 90..)

I found and downloaded the FOV-fix but also read the warnings on VAC in the readme. I dont want to take the risk. My steam account is from 2006 and is worth thousands of euros, getting VAC-flagged is basically a death sentence.

And yes, you can get VAC'd for cheating/modding singleplayer. I know that was the case for example with Total War: Shogun II back in the day. These days, if a game uses VAC, I'm much less likely to buy it due to the fact that you can get falsely flagged for SP modding.

there's no way in hell you can get vac'd without connecting to the game's mp servers... worst case you just disable internet during single player or just play offlines team mode

I'm scare modding single player game because VAC banned is permanent and automatic...

My advise; do not mod any game that has VAC, period. Too much of a risk. If its a game that basically requires modding to work but still has VAC - dont buy it.
