Red Faction: Armageddon

Red Faction: Armageddon

My game crashes to desktop whenever a checkpoint autosaves and I get DirectX error
I verified the game cache and installed DirectX as administrator. I also ran the game in administrator mode. However, the game still crashes whenever it saves a Checkpoint. Any fix for this or has the developer abandoned this game like its previous titles and offers no support of any sort.

I got a refund after 30 minutes or so of this behavior. The game just wasn't stable. Plus I run my steam games off the 2nd drive in the laptop, I also read this game has a problem with that also. Too many variables to mess with it. I got Crysis Warhead on sale also, switched over to and smooth sailing on Enthusiast settings.

GTX 1070, 6600HQ, 16GB of Ram.

I don't want to refund this game because I find it good. I am getting a new laptop soon. Maybe it will run better on that.

all those are for New Game crash and not for auto save crash. Can't find a single one for that. If I overlooked something then maybe you can direct me to it.

I'm going to say probably not. I'm playing on an Omen gaming laptop with a GTX1070 with a 4k display that I bought last week. I get ya, I liked the game to, I may pick it up for my Xbox 360. Funny, I have the OG Red Faction from years ago on Steam and it plays lol.

You need to put the game in Vista Service pack 2 compatibility mode. To do this find the game in your steamapps folder and right click the directx11 shortcut and properties. There should be a compatibility tab. Then I would make a shortcut of that .exe you made the change to and put that on your desktop to launch from it next time.

My solution was this: go to Video and make this changes.

V-sync - Disabled
Anti-Aliasing - Off
Filtering Mode - Triliniar
Shadow Detail - Off
Motion Blur - Disabled

This solution is for crash on autosave. Enjoy.
