How to beat the last level?

This is a good game overall, but the last level is really hard. I've tried it at least a dozen times with different combinations of power-ups and I haven't come close to beating it yet.

I tried it about a dozen times as well and finally defeated it a few days ago...
The one powerup to use is the final active one, where you add more compasses to the board, and be sure to use compasses as much as possible (and, of course, remember to use long series on both sides of the compass, and never forget that they don't have to use the same gems-- sometimes I would get confused with that.)
The passive powerup is less important, but 'Tesla coils never lose their charge' can be nice, too.

Thanks, I finally managed to beat it using that combination of powerups. Decent game, but damn that last level was a pain!

This turned out to be very important, too. I don't think I realized that you don't have to use the same gems until you pointed it out.
