Help with figuring out the proportion trick
So basically, I've been trying for a long time to apply the proportion trick by CaptainBigButt on a mod, but whatever I do, and in whichever way I try to rig the model, the character either screws up completely or the character still has the original proportions.

A lot of people seem to do this trick without a problem, so I'm even more confused as to how it doesn't work for me.

Anyone willing to try and help me can download the WIP version of the mod here[www.sendspace.com] (honestly, I had so many revisions of this mod it's ridiculous)

Looks like you've (OP) got most all the hard work done actually. The trick is the the "reference" model should be Ellis' skeleton with Alphonz's bone rotations copied into it. I actually use a perl script to automate this. Also you need probably need to adjust the rigging on some of the helper bones especially the elbow. The "animation" for helper is defined in a vrd file which I have added to yours. Also Alphonz's upper arms might need to be pushed out more because he shouldn't be able to tuck them in as well as a normal human like Ellis can.

Feel free to ask anymore questions on this subject and I'll answer them as best as I can.

Basically the L4D2 skeletons are a little worse than those GMod/HL2 ones. I suggest you should edit the mesh abit on the upperarms or improve their weight paint.
