Can I play L4D2 on Garena or will I get VAC banned?

I have the game on Steam and I want to play with other players on Garena, but I know some people there might not be using the "original" game. So do I risk getting VAC banned if I play on Garena? Is this even possible to play on Garena?

Nah, I didn't even try since I didn't find an absolute 100% answer and I don't want risk anything. My friends ended up buying the game on Steam while on sale for like a couple of bucks. Sooo yeah. I also told all of my friends about the deal they had on christmas - L4D2 was yours to keep for ever if you installed it then, so all my friends now own L4D2 haha.

I can answer you that since i was Garena user from 2009 to 2013 (untill l4d 2 went free).No you won't get VAC ban for playing true garena.Users were doing it for years. VAC only bans for messing with steam infolders files not going with it true garena. 100% NO BAN!
