No matter what the game, though, there will always be those who have so few responsibilities in real life that they have like a hundred hours per week to play a game and get really good at it - especially when it's a game that's been around for a while. Sadly, most of these types are also asshats.
One way to practice the various multiplayer modes is by using Dziggy's "Improved Bots(Advanced)" mod. Maybe they have it in Steam workshop but you can definitely get it from l4dmaps. It allows single players to play multiplayer modes (otherwise locked as single player) with and against bots. And the bots dont suck. It helped me and it can probably help you.
Thanks for your advice man, I'll try it out. I think the main times it's happened is on versus mode when I played as the hunter, my favorite special infected btw. I would get kicked because I would constantly miss the jumps but hey I had fun, that and to freshen things up I got a lot of mods that are mainly reskins and such that make the game more fun for myself, so yeah I'll try that out man!
These players don't care about having fun or enjoying the game, they just care about winning and insulting others. L4D2 VS is awfully unbalanced, and the scoring system basically cancels out any competitive value it could have potentially had. But for some reason, most players believe a win at this game makes them so HaRdCoRe_1337xXPROXx that they'd kill their own mom to win.
With such an obsession comes reduced to nullified common sense, exaggerated arrogance and obviously provides an experience that blatantly lacks anything that could be remotely fun or enjoyable.
So yeah, kick an arrogant "pro" or a noob who messed up a Tank or something, and watch him be replaced by more than useless AI, or another player who'll get kicked just as quickly for more or less similar reasons. So much for productivity.
TL;DR version: L4D2 VS has the worst community of all time, trying to be competitive in a game that's so unbalanced and non-competitive it's not even funny.
Play VS against friends, and you'll start seeing all the beauty of it. Frantic laughs as you're backed up in a corner, spamming shove and shotgun blasts while your SI friend is up in your face, desperately trying to jump you... Add mics and alcohol for added fun.
But public VS (or Scavenge, for that matter) is a definite no-no if you wanna play casually and have fun.
