I'm going to give this a try again.
Now i've come here to address a problem that completely ruined my Left 4 Dead 2 experience and made it to where I could no longer enjoy the game, and that's kicking players from games just because they can''t play very well. Not only is this incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rude but how are they supposed to get better at things like versus mode if all ya do is kick them before they can learn anything? Now I understand wanting to play with friends and wanting to fight against enemies who are skilled enough to give a challenge BUT this is not grounds for being an asshat and I've also been kicked because a team wanted their friend to come on and very rudely I might add said to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ leave or they would kick me off the server. If you want to play with friends then MAKE A PRIVATE SERVER, THE POINT IS THAT THESE PUBLIC SERVERS ARE GOING TO HAVE NOOBS COME ON THEM, YOU CAN'T HELP THAT AND KICKING THEM FOR NOT PLAYING VERY WELL ISN'T A VIABLE OPTION EITHER!!! That and I've also seen way too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abuse the kick system, so I guess I'm asking valve to either make it harder to kick someone off a server or to remove the kick system entirely in the 3rd game, but my overall point is don't be an asshat or I'll grab the nearest defib and taze your elitist ass, thank you.

I know what you mean. I had also the same problem when i was a beginner in VS. Try to act what your mates say. I´m now an experienced player and i hate it if a beginner in VS is sitting around or grabs every item. So in my opinion it is right to kick someone when he dont follows the instractions of the team after repeat it 5-6 times.

Hey HeartlessMZ, I'm a little surprised you "can't play very well" at L4D2 since you obivously can do failry well at TF2 (300+ hours and 200+ achievements) and I find TF2 harder.

No matter what the game, though, there will always be those who have so few responsibilities in real life that they have like a hundred hours per week to play a game and get really good at it - especially when it's a game that's been around for a while. Sadly, most of these types are also asshats.

One way to practice the various multiplayer modes is by using Dziggy's "Improved Bots(Advanced)" mod. Maybe they have it in Steam workshop but you can definitely get it from l4dmaps. It allows single players to play multiplayer modes (otherwise locked as single player) with and against bots. And the bots dont suck. It helped me and it can probably help you.

Thanks for your advice man, I'll try it out. I think the main times it's happened is on versus mode when I played as the hunter, my favorite special infected btw. I would get kicked because I would constantly miss the jumps but hey I had fun, that and to freshen things up I got a lot of mods that are mainly reskins and such that make the game more fun for myself, so yeah I'll try that out man!

I'm feeling you..but unfortunately more than 90% of this lovely community are freaking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or underage children that just can't handle their anger..that's why it's the safest to look for people to play with that are more tolerant, that's what i did when i started playing L4D..there will always be people like that..and as you mentioned i really hope, too, they're gonna do something about the kicking system in the 3rd game

I can definitely symphatize with you. I've gotten to be ok with some of the SI and I understand the tactics well enough when playing as infected, but overall I suck at vs. Those that are adept at it tend to be very competitive to the point where they will kick you for anything that turns the momentum to the other team like missing a good spawn point or missing a charge(I'm really good at that one). Hopefully the third one will have some way for ppl to practice as infected or have a separate vs mode for "noobs" that has restrictions on kicking so ppl have some means of getting enough play time to get better.

I'm learning VS. Personally that mode gets me frustrated just like playing dota 2. At times after I swan as infected, I'll last anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds everytime. And for human, I'm usually the first one to get taken out.
The Brown Hornet 23/out./2013 às 18:39
Instead of kicking the noob, I say kick the idiot veteran who always wants to sprint ahead like an azzhat ignoring any concept of team play or helping teammates who are down,.
Nosfrat 23/out./2013 às 19:01
The problem isn't kicking, the problem is the vast majority of the community believing VS is SRS ♥♥♥♥ BSNS, and winning is a matter of life and death, to the point any VS match becomes a mix of hate, arrogance and insults, with absolute disregard for FUN, which is what a video game is meant to be in the first place.

These players don't care about having fun or enjoying the game, they just care about winning and insulting others. L4D2 VS is awfully unbalanced, and the scoring system basically cancels out any competitive value it could have potentially had. But for some reason, most players believe a win at this game makes them so HaRdCoRe_1337xXPROXx that they'd kill their own mom to win.

With such an obsession comes reduced to nullified common sense, exaggerated arrogance and obviously provides an experience that blatantly lacks anything that could be remotely fun or enjoyable.
So yeah, kick an arrogant "pro" or a noob who messed up a Tank or something, and watch him be replaced by more than useless AI, or another player who'll get kicked just as quickly for more or less similar reasons. So much for productivity.

TL;DR version: L4D2 VS has the worst community of all time, trying to be competitive in a game that's so unbalanced and non-competitive it's not even funny.

Play VS against friends, and you'll start seeing all the beauty of it. Frantic laughs as you're backed up in a corner, spamming shove and shotgun blasts while your SI friend is up in your face, desperately trying to jump you... Add mics and alcohol for added fun.
But public VS (or Scavenge, for that matter) is a definite no-no if you wanna play casually and have fun.
