Help with blue ropes in No Mercy sewers?

I've noticed lately that the ropes for the platform you drop on to enter the sewers in map 3 of No Mercy are blue instead of black. I already tried removing all mods and verifying game files. Anyone know what this could be or how to fix it?

That's a common bug that happens with multiple ropes in the base game.

Crash Course's finale has a similar issue, where the yellow generator ropes in the finale are sometimes fully black.
No idea why it happens, but nothing's wrong with your game. This just happens randomly.

Ah that's unfortunate. I've been trying to make a mod to fix it, but I'm not making any progress. If anyone else has ideas for fixing it please let me know.

Bumping this so new people can see it and hopefully have ideas. I've tried messing with the files for cables, but haven't had any luck yet
