Local servers sometimes lag (ping of all players jumping) how to fix ?
Hi,

I've noticed most of the time local servers will lag when there is a lot of stuff going on, why is this happening ? are there any settings that need to be tweaked to improve performance that i am not aware of ?

Before you reply with something like "your pc sucks" or "your internet connection cant handle it", that is not the case.

I don't like posting specs but the pc is on the high end side.

Internet is 1gbps down / 100mbps up.

Whats going on ?

As long you are not running external programs, like: BitTorrent, Slim Drivers, A really bad Anti-Virus (Just an example)

Since that kind of programs can cause a little bit of lag

Close them before playing (Well, for whoever is hosting the server).

Depending on what exactly is going on, this may be a processing issue; sometimes your gpu just can't handle having to render all the hordes or whatever the stuff that there is a lot of going on is.

A gtx 780 would not have problems rendering stuff in 5 year old game + its not fps lag, its connection lag, since the ping is jumping, for all players, on Any local server that is hosted (by me or by others), not all the time of course but at certain moments when there are lots of zombies.

Earlyer today, i've setup 10 (yes 10) dedicated servers on my pc, the servers managed to get around 75%~ full, I've then started swapping around between them testing to see if i can spot any lag or pings jumping, there was no lag, 0, pings stable, everything working smooth.

This, without a doubt, leads me to believe the game is not properly coded to run on local servers.
