Left 4 Dead 2

Vis statistikker:
What do you think happened to the L4D2 survivors in the end?
SPOILERS BELOW

I used to think that they just got away and lived happily ever after (or the equivalent to that in the zombie apocalypse) but, after watching this video, there seems to be strong evidence that things may have not gone down like they expected with all the warning signs about what the military was doing.

I really hope there's an L4D3 and we get an answer to this question once and for all. At least in L4D1, it's assumed that the survivors made it to the Keys and finally got away from the zombies.

they're dead lol:steamhappy:
Crashed another chopper probs
i dont think anything neceserly good came from it but i think they are alive and potentially used to try to develop a cure

i doubt they went through that extra effort to caputure a carrior just to execute them when they have full intent to bomb the city

and while the l4d1 situation wasnt great they they could differ from base to base for all we know (potentially the l4d1 base didnt even have direct contact following their own makeshift orders)

theres not much telling which executed people were carriers and which ones weren't either meaning they could hae had to kill them all off just because one was a carrier when the rest werent (assuming the transformation wasn't just delayed)

although valve intentionally left this ambiguous

The comic straight-up mentions that to be the case.[www.l4d.com]
Despite this, the guy in charge of Millhaven (Major Everly) still intended to follow the last orders they were given, which were to rescue survivors and take care of them.[www.l4d.com]

There were a lot of different opinions on carriers at the base, and from what we can confirm, it's only really a few soldiers that hated them and thought they should be killed. Most were just following procedures to keep everyone safe, or had less extreme ideas about carriers (Like Sergeant Downey, who logically thought that carriers would be good as frontline soldiers.)
Even when the mutiny happened that lead to the base being overrun; That was entirely caused by Lt. Mora and his men alone.

There's nothing in any official media or the game itself that suggests carriers were being executed on sight at any point throughout the story, and the only evidence supporting that is non-contextual dead bodies and heavy theorizing that ignores confirmed facts.
The dead bodies in The Parish have little to no context, except a few that are tied to some graffiti, like the one where people talked about rushing the checkpoint, which would be completely reasonable use of force - Everything else suggests the military was evacuating carriers with higher priority and only using lethal force against people when they presented an active and conscious threat to refugees, soldiers, or evacuation efforts.

They're too valuable to be killed. The scientists would defend them at all costs, as they're successful products for the "Super Soldiers" project by using the virus :steamhappy: . Remember the dialogue on the bridge:
Military: "Are you immune?"
Survivor: "We are not infected."
& "immune" is probably not the same as "not infected", in military's & scientist's dictionaries :steamhappy:

I'd like to think they're still alive since the L4D Wiki says the Survivors are in military custody, honestly who the hell knows. Valve is too lazy to make a canon ending and is more worried about making more money so lol
