15th Anniversary - Free Weekend for Good Guy Nick?

Hi,

L4D2 has been published November 17, 2009. So, in less than a month the game will turn 15 years old. November 17 will be a Sunday. Wouldn't that be good occasion for a "free weekend"!? I would like to finally get the Good Guy Nick achievement after I missed the opportunity a few years ago.

What do you think?
Will Valve offer a free weekend to celebrate the 15th anniversary?
I would appreciate it.

Please, Valve, do us a favor :)

(and no, I don't want to use third party software to activate this achievement. At some point the next free weekend just has to be)

I think you misunderstood me. I've owned the game for a long time. However, there is an achievement called “Good Guy Nick”. To get it, you have to play a campaign on a “free weekend” together with another player who doesn't own the game yet. So it's part of the game to play it with someone who does not own it. And it's one of the last achievements I'm still missing. Of course they deserve the money. It's a great game! But with some "difficult" to reach achievements.

And since there have always been free weekends on special occasions, I think the 15th anniversary would be a great opportunity for this.

i have that achievement without being aware of it. i think at this point you would just have to be lucky enough to join a server that gives you one for free. not everything can be attained fairly. consider the world traveller achievement in tf2, almost nobody has it because there are no tc_hydro servers

It's hilarious watching people answer OP pretending they know what he's talking about.

I'm also missing that achievement and have waited a long time for a free weekend. It's a good opportunity for Valve with the anniversary in mind, but I don't expect they will do it. I don't think they mind it being free for a short time - like, everyone and their mother has L4D(2) at this point, and it's really, really cheap on offer for how a good and iconic game it is. I just don't think they bother because it's an older title at this point and they've "moved on", but I hope I'm wrong=)

I stated that not every achievement is fair to get. Unless you're really determined to get it you'd just join achievement idle otherwise keep crying about how you're never getting a free weekend for a dead game

PLEASE NO, we just got officials working again and the last thing we need is a flood of bad actors with free L4D2 accounts. Just rework the achievement into something else and never do a free weekend again. All the free weekend does is let griefers, trolls, and cheaters fester.

You don't get to keep the game after a free weekend.
Once the free weekend ends, the players who have been playing for free need to buy the game in order to continue playing, and once you buy the game, you're no longer a free weekend player.

In other words, free weekend players only exist while the free weekend is active.
