How difficult do you find the Dark Carnival chapter 4 event to be?
I’ve seen quite a few people say it’s really hard, but I’ve never had a problem with it, even playing with vanilla bots on advanced difficulty.

I always dread chapter 4s event no matter the difficulty

if you have a bile from map 1 then youre fine. otherwise it usually ends with the team getting surrounded and maybe 1 person slipping through and just barely making it through to the saferoom. the amount of common infected and the fact that there's no cooldown on the spawns is absurd. the level design itself being just cramped corridors makes it near impossible without a sharp melee and the main special infected being spitters, chargers and hunters that spawn (sometimes 2 at once) make it just an unfun event all around on higher difficulties.

Playing that part on expert is probably the hardest section in lfd2

Usually there are 2 bile bombs in total in Dark Carnival. If one of them is used on this map, it won't be that difficult. Pipe bomb could also work, but it only lasts for few seconds (2 pipe bombs would be better). This map is difficult only if survivors don't have either pipe bomb or bile bomb to throw near the saferoom on the last running event.

Pretty easy if you have a bile, hard otherwise compared to the average event

at chapter 4 on the way to safehouse, that event really ridicoulous broken like they really cant make you pass, if you pass smoothly the SI spawn suddenly become brutal. Its easy chapter if you play at easy - advanced but at expert the're really pain in ass

to prevent it, you must have bile to smoothly pass that event, but there will be people from one of the teams who just throw bile like they don't need it.

It's not difficult, it's just badly designed.
All it does is spam pointlessly large hordes in an area that was clearly not designed for it, without any logical reason or indication for it being endless.

The buggy saferoom, with unfair tank/witch spawns, and common infected spawning right behind your back, further paint the picture that the event was not actually tested.

The fact that the most common strategy is "Hold on to a bile for 95% of the campaign" just re-enforces how poor the balance actually is, and it makes me hate the campaign even more than I already do.

Halfway decent players can deal with this sort of bad design, but it makes for a sub-par gameplay experience at best, and is downright miserable at worst.

I crouch-walk backwards through it.
Zambies deal less damage if they hit you from the back.
Then I let my teammates fire at the horde as I slowly tank through it, then I pop my adrenalin a mash M2 until the door is closed.
Works everytime.

Now I thought I made it plenty clear I didn't want you here?

its not hard but getting the other 3 members of your team to critically think about how to get past it without a bile is absolute madness they WILL mindlessly rush the safe room even if it screws everyone else or even themselves and they WILL NOT leave the room to spawnblock the entire horde.

its not even hard you just throw a moly towards the saferoom, pick off specials while the moly fades (it commonly spawns 2 hunters and a random special), then go in the room, if teammates are still outside then wait at the middle of the wall outside of the safe room to spawnblock the horde.

Map 4 of Dark Carnival used to be easier (fairer). But sometime a long time ago they released a patch that changed the spawning of common infected. This allowed common infected to spawn in the saferoom, even in front of you while you were in the saferoom. It basically made the spawning of common infected extremely aggressive. I think that patch is also responsible for allowing double special infected (IE. Double smoker, double hunter) during these events, which I don't think were initially intended.

I was of the mind that the specials that spawn after passing the gate are scripted and that double hunters was probably intended (hunters are one of the best specials for that location that isn't blatantly unfair like a charger or spitter would be, especially since the specials will commonly climb a fence and attack from above, so lessening the chance 'unfair' specials will spawn but keeping a more balanced infected might be a dev choice but it could just be a bug)

this is unironically brilliant especially if you have pills instead to tank even more damage, only issue I see is that it would be extremely difficult for teamates to cover you and that going down here is often a death sentence

Hard? Easy?

Whatever the hell your personal opinion is, there is a non-stop Panic Event which causes unending common infected to swarm from primarily two directions. If you have two hands and your controls aren't gummed up with spilled Coca Cola, you should be able to tank through the onslaught.

This is a skill issue

Its no problem if you got a good team that will move forward rather than stay one spot shooting endless zombie horde

I got stuck on some buggy geometry of the green barricades, last night, and got incapped by spit. So, I agree + the game doesn't bug out like a game from 2009 would
