L4DTubers?
valve's other titles tend to have a big youtube fanbase which usually includes some well known youtubers, especially tf2 which probably has the most out of them all, but do we have any real "L4DTubers"? The closest i could think of are Wow Such Gaming and JAIZ

I have a friend that often made videos about his plays on custom campaigns on Singleplayer Expert. He plays other games too, but when playing L4D2, he focuses on custom campaigns. Here's his channel: https://www.youtube.com/@arealgamer1076. I often watch his videos as he's patient enough to keep trying with several restarts even if certain custom campaigns were not suitable for bots. What gave me the most impression was when he beat "Left 4 Dust" (known as a custom campaign with difficult puzzles, & even with "puzzles of no return" & many traps) with bots. Even I couldn't beat this campaign completely, as I was stuck on the "puzzle of no return" (one wrong step/ missing puzzle, restart the map as the path's blocked) & had to use noclip there.

ScanTheMan is another YouTuber who mainly posts shorts about L4D2.

I think making content for L4D2 is quite difficult, since you either play on a very casual surface-level with friends just to goof around, which isn't very suitable for repeated uploads, or you get into a niche and focus on that, which doesn't garner much attention.

It seems like most L4D-specific YouTubers either don't upload much (since there's not much new stuff to discover or talk about), keep their content simple (which limits their audience and popularity), or branch out to other related media to tap into more mainstream appeals.

I think the type of l4d content that has most potential in the current day has not got to do with the game itself, but it's universe. Series that take place in the l4d universe which follow an original story (or a retell of the actual story, whatever the creator wants it to be) can be really interesting, and just like when you're modding, you can come up with unique ideas for characters, locations and whatnot.

There's old series like "White Lie" which while I don't like it very much, it's a completely original attempt at a retell of the game's story. There's also an ARG-type series that's active lately which focuses around CEDA and a new special infected called "The starer", it even uses some old cut concepts like the cut "Claws" SI.

I just believe that if more people expand the l4d universe in their own ways, we can have alot more of entertaining l4d videos (maybe even mods!) for us to watch (and download).

The one that reviews exclusively custom campaigns and makes a good video essay once in a full moon.

L4D is more of one of those games you'd play rather then watch, and given how toxic the versus community is I'm not shocked that people have not been able to build an audience with L4D in the same way as TF2.

That and the TF2 audience tends to be younger and more gullible which means TF2ubers can clickbait more. Just look at the difference between the L4D2 forum and the TF2 forum. The TF2 forum is literally all trolls, bait, various propaganda, clout chasing and off-topic nonsense.
