Why people hate Left 4 Lewd?
I see this server being mentioned a lot lately but I never understood the hatred towards these server to the point where people even just crash it or cheat

Other than the... questionable themes surrounding non-consentual sexual acts, the main annoyance is that players often end up connecting to their servers without wanting to, as they have a large quantity of servers bloating up the server list, and despite supposedly offering to ban people on request, they don't actually follow through with that offer. This has led to many people intentionally breaking their server rules repeatedly in an attempt to actually be banned from their servers.

The reason they appear in the server list to begin with is because they forcibly associate unrelated Steam group IDs with their servers, so if you're part of an infected group, their servers will show up in-game for you, rather than only showing for people who are in their specific Steam group.
For obvious reasons, players dislike any servers that do this.

On top of that, they have a track record of stalking, harassment, and threats, among other despicable behaviour.
It was common for their staff to harass anyone that didn't like their servers, including a certain admin who openly admitted to stalking users and threatening to reveal personal information to the public if they openly spoke out against them. Threats of doxxing, stalking, hacking, etc. were abundant and things like user's IP addresses were publicly listed on their site alongside users' IDs.
Even I was threatened regarding a video I was planning to make on their servers, which included pictures of my home in google street view.

Fortunately it seems to have since calmed down (to my knowledge, I haven't been around in a while) and the main admin behind those acts is gone, but they retain a really bad reputation to this day.

oh this is a thread, uhh I've had my ip leaked cause of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trying to harrass several of my friends im surprised he didnt find it sooner. i hope these servers burn to the ground when a proper mm fix is implemented. ive already talked to tsuey in a private server with some other lads (including people like cuba and rise).

ive suggested several matchmaking system fixes, like seeing what server you are joining when connecting, being able to see server names when using the built-in server browser (just like tf2 xbox and tf2 ps3), being able to actually see what chapters most versus games are on and also being able to see every instance of a game.

anyways these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ basically have leaked a 17 year olds ip address (atm 16).

That behavior alone should be enough for Valve themselves to step in and shut them down, no? It is illegal and unethical behavior. Not to mention, they are making money off their IP through adverts.
I'm not a lawyer so I have no clue about the exact legalities of these things, but I did contact my local police office after I received the targeted threats towards me and nothing was able to be done. Though I didn't expect much given that the threats can just be empty, and no actual measurable damage had occurred beyond that.

If they do start acting up again I fully intend to revisit my original video to raise awareness and perhaps prompt more official action, cause clearly there is a complete lack of remorse on their end as they continue leeching off various groups to pull in more unsuspecting players.
Jaiz remember the Serious Samurai issue, the times that Valve SHOULD have stepped in and didn't and the times they did was to undo stuff like that DMCA that was issued from Drak, I wouldn't trust Valve to step in with this matter either if they couldn't bother stepping in back then!

Money paid by with the adverts that you spam every user who joins your servers. None of it comes out of your own pocket. Which is why you get so aggressive and threatening when somebody crashes one of your servers. It is a revenue stream. You're literally making money off Valve's IP, which is illegal.

Nobody has a choice but to join your servers because of the malware you put in everybody's game. We're all repeatedly subjected to horrific content such as rape, sexual assault and other very sexually charged acts that we didn't pay to see in this game. Do you not even consider how upsetting it can be to people? New users are subjected to this crap the moment they play the game.

Do you even realize what this sort of thing can do to rape survivors? It's abhorrent. This game doesn't even have a sexual content tag so they won't ever be expecting anything like it. Your servers would never be approved by any respectable game company, period. The only reason your servers still exist is because Valve has abandoned this game.

On top of that, you harass, threaten and doxx people who speak out against you. This is illegal and unethical behavior. These are literal death threats at this point. You've done it to many people and you don't even deny or try to hide it. You've become emboldened by the fact that you think you're untouchable.

You absolutely refuse to ban people who request it. Anybody who tries to get themselves banned, you post their IP address and real life address on your website for anyone to see. So it's clear that you are not reasonable people or capable of showing goodwill. Quite frankly, I'm disgusted and repulsed by your behavior and condemn it strongly.

There's no way to justify what you've done so far and people have had enough. If any Valve employee is reading this, please read through this thread and check out the Lewd 4 Dead webpage, and do something about these people.

Thank you.

I'm responding because I'd like to set things straight. There are a number of statements from you I'm not going to say anything about because according to your stories from the past few days i don't know what you're talking about at all. I picked a few that stood out to me.

Money paid by with the adverts that you spam every user who joins your servers.

Players do not pay to play in the servers. The buying system is a points system. With the points you collect you can buy with !buy commands special infected, as well as all weapons and items. We see you on our usa servers with some regularity, so you know very well how it works.

None of it comes out of your own pocket.

All official Lewd4Dead servers are self-funded by the owners. Iemphasize official
Lewd4Dead servers, because there are also servers that run without our permission, they use our steam group ID number in their servers.cfg. This makes it look like these servers are Lewd4Dead affiliated, they are not. Those servers are therefore visible in the group servers list as soon as you are a member of the Lewd4Dead group. Those servers are not ours, nor do we know the content or structure of these servers. We can therefore not be held responsible for these servers. We regularly look up the owners with the friendly request to remove our ID from the servers.cfg, with varying results. The official original servers of Lewd4Dead can be found including IP and port numbers in our steam group or discord.

You're literally making money off Valve's IP, which is illegal.

Where do you get this nonsense from? Our servers all run on mainly rented servers in
multiple data centers. The ip addresses have nothing to do with valve ip addresses.

Nobody has a choice but to join your servers because of the malware you put in
everybody's game.

You're just out to cause a sensation with your lies, no more, no less. We do not use malware in any way, nor have we ever done so, and certainly not as you are proclaiming here. If you have evidence for this, I request that you send this including evidence directly to Valve customer support Make it especially clear which servers, which ip addresses and related steam groups are involved. They can probably help you further.

We're all repeatedly subjected to horrific content such as rape, sexual assault and
other very sexually charged acts that we didn't pay to see in this game

This is completely out of the blue nonsense. Like I said, we'll see you play regularly in the usa servers. Yesterday you also play in eu servers. The servers in both the eu and the usa are becoming reasonable well guarded to avoid misbehavior in chat. From data that we receive via the !report system, that players can use to report misconduct to us, including video and photo evidence, it turns out you didn't want any of that to pull. This is also the reason that you have been given a chat ban. Apparently Valve intervened because of your username, otherwise it wouldn't have changed in your steam ID. It was not the first time valve did that. It's none of our business, but that way we can recognize you so easily in our servers.

The only reason your servers still exist is because Valve has abandoned this game.

Valve did not abandoned this game.

You absolutely refuse to ban people who request it.

This is also incorrect. For almost 6 years it has been clearly stated in the steamgroup page that we find it no problem to give someone a permanent ban. If you follow the directions described there, depending on which option you choose, it will be very simple to get banned or blocked. It is not a good idea to approach us rudely as some have done in the past. You lose the right to continue talking against us or on any of our platforms steam / discord. You will be immediately banned and blocked by the admins and moderators. You immediately lose our attention forever.

Anybody who tries to get themselves banned, you post their IP address and real life address on your website for anyone to see.

This is also incorrect, and made up by you. A self ban is registered in sb++ and de IP addresses are definitely not visible. Your username and steam ID are visible . Valve has made it possible to publish it legally. That we keep administration about it is to be clear to prevent the system from being misused and possibly wrong persons be banned. Provided you are guilty of intentionally crashing or creating a ddos attack on our servers. In that case, we also send all data to our data center providers. What they do with it is not
up to us. The reports will remain, and we reserve the right to publish this if we can prove that someone has committed the above. Have you ever read the l4d2 wiki pages? If you help as a volunteer, your IP address will also made visible to everyone, and then you have done something good instead of something bad. We never see anyone complaining about l4d wiki doing that. You are just participating in creating pathetic behavior, instigating and spreading fake messages like many other do in this topic.

Quite frankly, I'm disgusted and repulsed by your behavior and condemn it strongly. There's no way to justify what you've done so far and people have had enough. If any Valve employee is reading this, please read through this thread and check out the Lewd 4 Dead webpage, and do something about these people.

You should re-read what you're saying here. We are always open to talk to everyone but there are a few rules. If you can't express yourself properly, you've been banned and blocked by us for misconduct, crashing servers, or having crashed, committing Ddos, or even advertising it or encourage others to do so, we will absolutely no longer talk to you ever. So are you on a permanent ban list with us, we will never answer via any platform and or in anything to go.

Apparently you are not aware that you can easily request a self ban in the usa servers where we see you regularly. You can get an explanation through our steam group or discord how to request a self-ban. I invite you to do this, as soon as possible, and your ban will be in place within a maximum of 48 hours.

As described above, we will never respond to or interact with anyone who is on our permanent ban list for any reason. We see that some have gathered in this topic, but they are ignored. That is our policy and we stick to it. Anyone who is not on our ban list is welcome on one of our own platforms that we use. As long as you are friendly to us, we are also friendly to you. Our steam and discord are easy to find by googling it.

I hope I was able to explain things clearly enough. Thank you for your time.

Agreed
My expectations are pretty low, but any changes that would stop or limit people from connecting to these cringy servers would be massively appreciated.

Do not be deceived by their claims of being able to get self-banned. They have lied about and ignored these requests for ages.

The only real measure thus far is to block the IP's of every single one of their servers on the firewall, a list of which you can find here, from all regions:

https://www.gametracker.com/search/left4dead2/?query=Lewd4Dead

(so as to not connect to their trash and infect your files with obvious malware).

Just add an exception to your firewall with advanced settings and you'll block yourself from connecting to their cringe.

Valve should simply step in and shut them down.

It's appalling that this is the only current fix so we don't end up joining malware infected servers. You're absolutely right, though. They will ignore self-ban requests and may try to dox you instead. Which just makes them completely unreasonable and nonnegotiable people.

Which is why we need to be taking this directly to Valve so these servers can be promptly shut down. There is no progress to be made because the Lewd 4 Dead owners are not willing to give even an inch here. They would rather threaten, harass and post real life addresses of players in this game, than to negotiate with them.

They have doxxed minors too, which just shows that they honestly have no qualms about hurting children either. So, not only should something be done about these servers but something needs to be done about the players behind them. Not just Valve action, legal action.

Its simply an unexpected composition of words, considering people that buy Left 4 Dead, aren't necessarily in the assumtion that they're buying something similar to Outlast, which is another calibre of horror. As in, content matter that makes use of themes that belong in another category, and are generally tagged differently, if people are using tag-search to find games.

This doesn’t work because Lewd 4 Dead would constantly switch out the IP making this fix worthless. They’re that desperate

By the way is nobody going to try and sue them for leaking IPs?
AustrAlien2010 21 FEB 2022 a las 7:12
People's IP's are barely a secret, regardless of the servers they play on. Every website they connect to has their IP. I must have seen thousands of IP's over the years, not that I care, but how else are they going to connect to anything?

In any case, there is a setting for this in the Steam settings on the In-Game-tab, if you feel uncomfortable with this, and want to turn that feature off for some reason. But you can easily trust me with these things, because its just me, and I obviously know what I can and cannot do.

The issue isn't that they post IPs. The issue is that they go the extra mile to find your exact address on Google Maps and post it on their website. It is essentially a warning or a death threat.

"Stay quiet or something will happen to you"

That's the issue here. It's illegal to threaten people. And they are doing it to protect their profits made from their servers that they spam everywhere via malware. Which they put into the game files for everyone to download. Which, might I remind you, is all pretty much not allowed by Valve.

Through and through, their actions are despicable and absolutely warrant not only Valve action but legal action as well. They're putting lives in danger, not just adults but minors as well. I can't believe this hasn't gotten any attention so far. One person said that their address was leaked and they were only 16 or 17 years of age.

How is this acceptable behavior?

doxxing someone works only against people who are afraid of confrontation, get a gym membership or at least get some dumbbells and do exercise, learn to fight
like that at least will give you the peace of mind, if the fact that the people trying to doxx you might be from a completely different country doesn't
