Possible to play VERSUS against AI/Bots?

Just wondering if it is possible to play versus Bots in VERSUS, as I haven't played this game in a couple of years and don't remember how to play Versus. I don't want to join a game with random people and not 'completely' know what to do...

I don't know if it's possible, I can't remember if I've done that before or not. Thanks for any ideas

You need to use the singleplayer VS mod.

In the default game you can't, but if you go to the workshop and search for "versus single" you can find a few mods that let you play versus alone with bots, against bots (and the bots play pretty good too)

Go to - Custom Mutation - Versus - Training then choose the mode you want to play
You can't play versus in Singleplayer mode but it is still possible to play alone by hosting a local server in the settings

there is a possible way in offline
all you got to do is

set the launch option of l4d2 to

"+allow_all_bot_survivor_team 1"

before you start the game
type your desired map in the developer's console like

"map c1m1_hotel"


but you have to add versus after it

"map c1m1_hotel versus"


after that you have to unlock them cheats typing in


"sv_cheats 1" in the console
then type in "sb_all_bot_game 1"
then you can change into the infected without restartin the game (press M ingame)
