Settings Question
Which setting changes how far you can see objects before they pop into veiw? mine seem to be very low but cannot figure out which setting to change so I can see them far away anymore. Kinda annoying seeing objects pop into veiw as I am like 2 feet away from them

No clip plane options in this game, but with 1300 hours, you gotta know that.

You are trying to trick us! the server decides where and when things pop in.

I'm not sure myself, but Air Vents on the roof of many buildings in the game count as Objects. So you could toy around with it and see when it disappears and get your answer. Dead Air and No Mercy have a lot of these.

I guess I could, I often don't have time to do it while playing because playing with others and not wanting to let them wait but I will experiment

Just remember I am talking about the rectangle shaped ones, I don't think the tall circular ones are objects.

tbh I don't remember any circle vents in the game, that just proves how much I don't pay attention to those details XD the square ones are only one I think of when you say vents

The "circle ones" are ones similar to the one on top of the Burger Tank in Hard Rain

The objects popping in (I think) are part of the map itself. When Valve made the maps or on custom maps you can set how far you get from items before they fade out.

Really? I wouldn't know because I had my settings on low for so long and when I wanted to change them back I always forgot -shrugs- if that is the case then oh well not a big deal to me.
The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

It's the Effect Detail setting that affects model fading. Objects on maps have can a set distance before they fade, or fade based on their size on-screen. Setting the Effect Detail lower makes the models fade even closer.

i believe on low it also causes some objects (like railings or barrels) to be completely invisible regardless of distance, but I'm not fully sure

I have noticed that on some maps, I turn back wondering what I was stuck on and nothing is there haha
