Problem: No sound at all (Fixed)

Last year, I had previously played this game for maybe an hour and it seemed to work fine. However, I recently started the game again to play with some friends and it seems that there is no sound whatsoever. The audio is turned up in the games settings and in the audio mixer on Windows, yet there is still no sound whatsoever. I have tried using the commands ;snd_rebuildaudiocache
;snd_updateaudiocache
;exit
but to no avail. I have also tried reinstalling and verifying the integrity of game cache but it still didn't work.
I also haven't downloaded any mods so that is not part of the problem.
I had upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 between the time that it worked and now so that may be a cause of the problem.
If anyone can give any help towards fixing this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Check the volume mixer and see if the game is muted in windows, right click the sound icon on the system tray.
