Bhop, is it worth it?
Hey guys, i have a question. I've been playing l4d2 and csgo for quite sometime now, and i have been wondering. Is learning to bhop worth it? I would love to know how to for l4d2, but at the same time, i play csgo more, and from what i've seen, its not worth it in csgo. Bhoping is a skill that takes years to master, and im not sure its worth it. Should i learn it, or not?

nope, it makes things boring in versus, and it also ♥♥♥♥♥ the hit boxes up in some games

Not really worth it, it's only good for speedrunning.
In versus you need to stick with your team, so unless all know how to bhop it would result in people being seperated.
In survival it can be useful if you're on low health and need to move fast, but thats a rarity and only on like 1 map.
It's not too difficult to learn the basics actually, the technique is simple, and timing is also pretty easy, it's keeping it consistent that's difficult (I've managed to go from 0 bhops, to 15 in a row in a matter of a day, and if I can manage that then anyone can) so if you practice it for a few weeks on end you should be fine (Note I'm a rhythm gamer so timing was very easy for me to learn)

Definitely not true. Spend a week playing this map 2 hours a day and you'll get it

If you're wanting to learn bunnyhoping on the infected side, you only need to press SPACE a few frames earlier than you would on the survivor side.

Personally I wouldn't recommend that map, it's good if you can already bhop well but it's not very good for starting out.
I found it best to launch a map (or play local) and disable the director, then noclip to an open and flat area (mall atrium for example) and just practice there gradually getting better.

I said to master, for all source games and getting good consistency

Just do it from time to time while regulary playing campaign. Especialy if you find yourself on a slope. Im doing that for a quite a few months now and I can already perform 2-4 bhops in a row on public servers. Sure doesn't sound like much but there are some spots where those few bhops are enough to get some nice speed boost or skip parts of the map.

Depends on what skill level you want to aim.
In L4D2 legit bhop is a difficult skill, you can't master it that easily, firstly because scrolling is not as efficient than in css/csgo, so you must learn singletaps.
The game have a lot of new tricks and glitches that you can practise your bhop on.
Tell me if you wanna see some of them.

Dude this is a question like, 'I recently tried pasta and loved it. Should I learn how to cook it? Is it worth it to learn how to cook it?' People will give their personal opinions, some yes some no. In the end it's always your call whether to do it or not.

Hmm. Good point. I was trying to get awnsers from people who can bhop and see if they regret it or not was my real point.

What is bhopping
some call it a glitch and it's probably true. it's a trick to gain momentum and speed by jumping repeatively.

How to bhop
In L4D2, unlike many other games with similare mechanics, Bhop can't be performed easily because you can't spam the jump key or bind it to the mousewheel.

Is it usefull ?
yes, if you know how to simply do a couple of bhops it can helps and improve your skill a lot. Go watch this entire playlist for a few instances of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3CU8ypzBDs&index=36&list=PL164841586808EE79
