Making Death Sounds while Still Alive?

So one time I was playing an L4D2 campaign with people online, and two of them were playing as Zoey and Francis, and they started making the sounds that they usually do when they're dying, but they were perfectly fine and had a decent amount of health. Is it possible to do this in-game or could they possibly have been modifying the game's files? I really don't know tbh.

Probably "Vocalizer."

They just use the game's vocalize system.
You can make a character says whatever text he has using the "vocalize" game command.

they simply use vocalizers, the easiest way to get one is to search "Vocalizer" in the workshop

You want to know how to make custom vocalizers, don't you? I can help with that if you wish.

The way it worked in L4D1 was by "vocalize" to make your Survivor say a certain line, "vocalize PlayerDeath" forces them to make death screams. A patch after L4D2 made it impossible to use the vocalize command from dev console because it caused problems.


You can still make custom radialmenus, but it needs to be an add-on! :P

Vocalizer mods offer a range of new voice-line you can trigger in addition to the "Look" and "Ready" default radial menus.
They all add differents things, but most of them have the death scream you were refering to.
Try one and an other until you find one you like.
Or better, do one by yourself.

Here is on of many. Easy to use. (Yes, I use it too) It can be also used to switch between/to bot characters via its character selection menu,it simply executes a console command for that which you could do by yourself (jointeam 2 botname), can be handy in some situations.(Go idle-> choose the bot character-> done)
