The survivors are carriers, but the zombies want to kill anyway?
I never understood why the zombies would even come after the survivors if they are just carriers but immune. The zombies know well they are infected as well, so why don't they just leave them alone?

If zombies had so much self awareness that they realized they were infected and would decide to leave carriers alone, why wouldn't they leave everyone alone?

But that would mean they attack each other with that reasoning. I mean, the survivors are carriers therefore infected, the zombies should sense that, if they can sense that the others zombies are zombies. Which means they don't attack each other.

You can often see pairs or small grps of zombies bashing eachother.

yes, there is a "chance for brawl" command between infected in the console
Maybe whether the zombie attack the survivors depends on the heartbeats or temperature or sth. else,'cause it's said that the zombie is a kind of poikilotherm and it has no heartbeat.

Supplement:I mean the zombies choose the targets are not only depends on whether the survivors are infected.

they arent zombies in this game though, they have a messed up virus/disease

i think the main reason infected attack them is noise and other things disturbing, they are angered by the gun shots, talking and yelling, and their flashlights

there would definitely have to be something about the immune attracting them too that we cant see, or they wouldnt react to a survivor silently sneaking with their lights off. you can get past an infected that is looking the other way by doing that, also survivors talking does not have any effect in the actual game

seeing the infected stumble around throwing up and being overall nauseous its no wonder they hate noise, do too when im sick. maybe francis and nicks suit smells bad, and it triggers them

Your all wrong once the infection takes over your body Your mind starts to attack everyone it see's main purpose of the zombie is to Eat and infect So it doesn't care if you are a carrier or not the zombie will infect argo you are now infected with the virus.

Err, zombies are not self conscious about such facts. Every survivor irrespective of being Carrier/immune/normal, they are just targets/food for zombies. Zombies are not intelligent enough to distinguish such facts.

the infection has a lot of similarities to rabies, we dont call sick dogs zombies either

the difference is that a zombie is a raised undead, the infected never died

You never watch the series "Walking Dead" the survivors are also carriers and they need to fight the zombies off every hour and days.
