Character creation?
Now I have to wonder if this is like a normal JRPG where your forced to play as unlikeable character A. I really hope not. Cause this looks good but so far it looks like your stuck playing as the white hair guy. Major reason why I dislike JRPG. Annoying main protagonist and turn based combat.

You could see in the Screenshots tab up there that some people already got the game and uploaded some pictures. One immediately shows what looks like the same kinda character creation system from the last game. :3

So no, I think he's probably just a main character/enemy. You still get to make your own squad of voiceless goons like usual! :D

Edit: Looks like it's the same before where you can either make your own character with customised face and hair and stuff, or play as fixed design characters. Either way you get a decent amount of choice.

Can you do what you did in Stranger of Sword City and put in your own characters.

I will shamelessly admit I made a mage with Megumins portrait in that.

You can't import custom portraits no but you could prob mod it.

Daaw

I liked having a party with Megumin, Rory Mercury, Lisbeth, Rika Furude and Akemi Homura in it.

They did have a red wizard's hat in the previous game in paperdoll mode. Wouldn't be too hard to make a Megumin-ish character. You'd probably cast more than one spell though. :P

Funny you mention that, because I made a Chuunibyou mage in my team. I based mine off Ando from Inou-Battle (When Supernatural battles become commonplace)

So I made him 'evil' with an incredibly slow speed to account for him giving off long winded speeches before casting. And made his personality 'Dark and Dark' so that phrase gets added to all his attacks. Was very funny. To me at least.

I get the bliss of creating your own character but what is so wrong with playing as a default?
Almost every game i know does this (Mostly console based ones) Spyro, you play as spyro but some games u get to play as sparx etc in certain events. and so forth. Now if you aren't into that style of game don't go for it but i feel options would be very limited then. To pretty much payed for online games like WOW etc. Granted the character customization on some of these games are sick af. (such as aion, DP etc) Lots of options i mean. I would love to be able to create my own on here as well but if not hey, it's about the gameplay and the story for me.

Also if you like a certain piece of gear but it's stats suck (for example the red gym jacket) you can turn that jacket into an item and apply it to your new better armor. It will keep the stats and look like the jacket. Just cosmetics.

The gear has to be the same type though. So no turning swords into guns etc.
