RAGE 2
Log entries just not showing up.
I've got missing log entries. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥' clue why. From tutorials, to characters, to collectible ones around the game, they're just not there. I've only just barely started. Wtf?

This on new game+ or first play through?

This is a common glitch for +, but is rare for 1st play through. I know its annoying since u cant clear an area, but theres not really anything u can do except load a save from before u read the Datalog and hope it clears. This usually wont help with new game+ however.

Well thats another first. This game sometimes.

Quick question, is this all of the Datapad's or just some of them? U should know that it is normal for them to disappear after u read them and they can be found in the menu if u wanted to re-read them.

Depending on how far u have gotten my recommendation would be to delete the game and do a clean re-install; also after downloading boot it to the main menu, then exit and verify. If u have gotten a few hours in, just try verifying and see if it helps. Either way plz let me know.

yes, i figured it would be normal to reread them lol, but yeah it's just some that don't show after i pick them up, then the menu KNOWS it's missing them because the "new" little icon they use still lingers on those log options. and it's for ♥♥♥♥ like tutorials and whatnot too, not just the datapads. like, no wingblade tutorial anymore, but grenades are still there. i literally just got past the dead aunt scene in the opening, and the very first pad you can pick up in that hangar/garage/building-thingy beside you doesn't show, yet another one from Walker's aunt just down the way from it does. i'm gonna try reinstalling the game and let you know how it goes. can i ask what bug you thought i was experiencing? appreciate the help btw.

Sorry for the wall, I know its alot.

That purple icon in the menu next to the Ability is a visual glitch(if it doesn't go away after checking the new ability or log initially). I just ignore them. The item/tutorial should still exist.

If it doesn't then I would recommend contacting steam if reinstalling doesn't fix anything because if the tutorial is just GONE or not loading apparently u haven't been able to download ALL of the game. I have "tutorials" turned off, I have had this game for about 3 years so not really any reason to run them lol.

The glitch I thought u we're experiencing involves "Clearing" an area. For most areas there will be 1 to 4 boxes to check, average of around 2 to 3.
1. Kill all the bad guys
2. Get the "Ark Chests"(u probably haven't seen 1 yet)
3. Get the "Storage Containers"(chests w/Money or Feltrite in em)
4. Get the "Datapads"(self explanatory)

Achieving ALL of the above will "Clear" the location, which is easy to see when observing said location from the map. Though most of the time just axing all the bad guys is enough to get "Project Points", u won't have to completely clear the location. Some smaller locations will only have 1 to 2 checks, i.e Just grab 1 Container and 1 Datapad, no enemies. Clearing certain locations will grant Project Points, which grants upgrades for your character through "Projects"(I'll explain this below).

Vineland and the other root towns; Gunbarrel, Lagooney, Oasis etc, will have Datapads and Loot Chests in Gunbarrel and Wellspring, but they are not required to get to "Clear" the location since they r root towns instead of overworld locations. Example being the "Junkers Pass Ark", early game Ark & the first location I would recommend going after leaving Vineland. If u have the Deluxe edition don't forget to grab the BFG like I did. It really is helpful and BY FAR the best weapon at dealing with those annoying Authority Sentry's. Ammo is expensive though and only available in Wellspring, so use it wisely.

In fact Vineland itself really is just a prologue location, not a normal root town like Gunbarrel or Wellspring and after leaving it there really is no reason to go back to it.

Final heads-up, After leaving Vineland, I would recommend clearing both the "Junkers Pass Ark" as well as the "Great Crack Ark" locations. If u can also get the "Canyon Cove Ark", but this location is harder then the other 2 and can be put off until u r a bit stronger. Then go to Gunbarrel and help John Marshall, which will get the "Gunbarrel Ark". Then immediately head to Lagooney to meet Dr. Kvasir. By helping Marshal and Kvasir u will unlock their "Projects".

Kvasir in particular has BY FAR the best Project upgrades which include a radar for "Ark Chests", "Storage Containers", and "Datapads". These upgrades will cutdown on search time IMMENSELY for "clearing" locations, and I recommend getting them ASAP.

Okay so, I reinstalled the game, and restarted and I think some promps I misunderstood, and then just some tutorial ones don't show? Like is there a wingstick upgrade or something and that's why I don't have a tutorial in the menu, because one more in depth than "this is a gadget you can use while shooting" exists?

Yes there r several upgrades for the Wingstick. Talk to Loosum Haggar and help her to unlock her Projects. She has the upgrades for the Wingstick.

However, I still recommend helping John Marshal and getting the Shotgun; though u still want to save alot of project points for Kvasir and his radar perks and unlocking them asap. Your call though.

Also there r General Traders at the Root Towns, and one roaming trader. The general traders sell upgrades for the Wingstick, Grenades, and Health, Ability, Overdrive Syringes; basically, upgrades for all your craftables.

I figured if anyone'd have them it'd be her. I appreciate the tips lol. The radar stuff sounds like what I'd want first. I was just asking about the wingsticks because of the tutorial prompts. Honestly I upgrade more passive/misc./side stuff first before I go straight into upgrading anything else in games typically. I'm the kinda person who grabs all the weird unique perks in a game like Fallout, y'know? How do I find any towns though? I've cleared a few arks at this point (I've got the dodge, shatter, and that gravity ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Walker throws out of their hand to suck people in and do big jumps) and I have Lily's upgrades, but like my map legend doesn't say anything like "town/settlement/village" as far as I saw so I'm a little puzzled.

Not sure what u have active on the map overview, but u can change it. Just look for the orange Diamond quest marker in the "Broken Tract" region. Should be "Gunbarrel" otherwise look for the question mark. All 5 regions(excluding Twisting Canyons) should have a question mark somewhere by itself. Those marks are the root towns. Broken Tract has Gunbarrel, Sekreto has Lagooney, Torn Plains has Wellspring, Dune Sea has Oasis, & The Wilds has Dreadwood.
