The Deluxe edition does not include the other Dlc's which is the Cult of the Death God & Terrormania. Neither of them r as good as the Ghosts dlc however and r also just smaller overall. They r not recommended(unless u r rich and just don't care) as u need to buy Rage Coins in order to get them & Rage coins never go on sale.
Also just a heads-up u will need to create an account at Bethesda.net in order to activate and receive the bonuses for the Deluxe edition. However this is a one time deal and no 3rd party programs or applications need to be installed, and the flag is uploaded to ur copy of the game so u don't need to re-sign in or stay signed in or any of the Ubisoft ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Ultimately its up to u however. I don't particularly consider anything in life to be "Truly AMAZING!". At least not anymore, but the Deluxe edition is what I purchased & have been over-all quite happy with.
BFG is one shot deal - it is expensive to use at 800 dollars per shot - you cannot find ammo for it anywhere - it's good for bosses you don't want to fight.
Ghost DLC is just more of the same from base game - it's pretty good.
Depending on what it is YOU want I would choose from these options.
Base game only: You just want to play it and move on after beating the story a few times.
Deluxe edition: Want to do more after the story, and don't care about 3rd party DRM.
Deluxe edition + Terramania: Achievement hunting.
Deluxe edition + more DLC to all DLC: Massive fan of this game and will put about 400-800 hours into the game. (Or massive whale who doesn't care).
Again which ever one is best for you.
Most games usually do - this game is old, if it released this year - it would be hard to say. Also - https://steamdb.info/app/548570
I made an account and got my DLC - not sure if it automatically signs you in - then again I play in online mode with steam - so I never really payed much attention to it.
It's not like Origin where you see it sign you in to play the game. That you'll have to look up to see.
This has some resource management, and weapon development, which requires menuing. You only have so many weapons, a lot of the skills also requires a bit of strategy - Despite that yeah you can run and gun if you want - just play in Easy mode.
Edit: Actually if your having a hard time deciding I would just wait it out till the fall sale. No use making a stir of a moment decision on a time limit at the end of the sale. Do a bit a more research, like on youtube and when your ready to get it on the next sale(If you want to get it) You'll be in a more comfortable situation next time.
The game isn't going anywhere anytime soon, No announcement has been made about a delist yet.
Edit 2: Like me I was on the fence about getting this game also - I played and beat the first one 100% a long time ago, and what really had me not wanting to play this game was the Rage coin situation. - After watching a few videos of it I decided at this point my purchase really meant nothing in terms of supporting being that I bought it 80% off and it's so old it really doesn't matter. If they try this again with Rage 3 - I'll do the same thing wait for a massive sale years later and buy it then.
@Repent, after the initial setup u can play offline no problem. As long as it is the same save file(& u haven't done any shady shenanigans), it will not require u to sign in to anything.
