Crashing. :(

Hey guys,

so I am encountering a concerning amount of CTDs. There does not appear to be a certain reson for those, thus I cannot reproduce them.

My system:

Intel i7 6700
GTX 980
Games in installed on an SSD

Windows 10 is updated
Graphics drivers as well
(I even went ahead and updated the BIOS firmware as well as chipset drivers)

Ingame-settings are set to high, VSYNC is turned off both in-game and in the NVIDIA control panel.

Any ideas? :(

There's probably multiple non-gfx related causes of crashes as well. Just now I idled in main menu (Esc screen) while I made some food for 5 minutes, when I came back to PC it had crashed to desktop, while just idling in main menu.

Ok so my game used to crash in the middle of the gameplay, but it seems to be not crashing anymore after I turned off SSAO. Thank you.

Same thing, I paused the game and did something else for 5-10 minutes and when I came back the game was gone.

I had a similar issue - I could not play on 4k and 1920x1080 but as long as I kept the resolution lower it works.

I tried turning off SSAO, didn't help.

But WHAT is weird is that IF I take a smoke whilst staying in-game, it won't crash. But once I press ESC to "pause" the game, it crashes.

Same issue. I'm loving this game. It's inventive buttery goodness; a real gem. Totally out of my mind excited to play it, like I haven't been about a game for a long time. But yeah: if you pause it to cycle the laundry, go to the kitchen, go piss, have a smoke, whatever, it will crash. Can't leave it alone for one minute. It's like the game is punishing me for abandoning it.

I have the same issue, in game everything is fine, but in menus and also sometimes after saving the game just crashes and i have to manually close it via taskmanager. Game runs on an SSD, Intel I7, Geforce RTX 2080 Ti, Windows 10 is updated as well as graphics driver. I just installed the game yesterday and I am reading a lot of ppl having problems with the latest update, so, I hope they will come up with a fix.

same here got 9700k & rtx 2080 and when i go to the menu the game crashes. i only installed it today and not sure whether i should play it now or not anymore. Will crashing cause any damage to PC system ?

If only the game crashes and you can still run Windows etc. it should be no problem. However, if it causes your Windows to crash constantly, I would avoid playing the game. As a lot of ppl seem to have this problem since the latest update, i guess they will have a fix soon.

When I payed it back in 2019 I didn't get crashes. Bought the DLCs a few days ago, and had crashes, at rate of maybe one every two hours. ... Just saying.
