RAGE 2

Drop the RAGE coins and I'll buy it
I would gladly buy this game with all it's dlc since it's currently on sale. But when I learnt that the only method to get the second expansion is by ingame currency - this is a no-go for me. Drop it and I'll buy the full package.

Same here. It's a shame, because it looks like a fun game.
Lord Of War Aug 4, 2020 @ 11:38am
Err, you do realise you still buy it from Steam?
At its store page, pay for 500coins. These 500coins automatically tighten to your account, so then when in game, just use the coins for getting 2nd DLC and that's it.

Tighten to your account ?

Yeah, you're not helping reducing the confusion that the coins seem designed to cause.

Also there is the little matter that nowhere on the store page lists the price for TerrorMania, in coins or dollars. Nor any mention of starting coins. So I've go no way to verify your information. More importantly, I've got nothing I expect Valve to read if I want a refund because your information is wrong.

I'll just stick to buying games that let my purchase the entire game in a single transaction with an easily calculable total price.

It's decent shooter. Buy Deluxe. Second dlc is not even that good - i didn't finish it

Its a bit difficult to make a decision without all the info needed.

1. How much do the DLCs cost in coins?
2. Whats the price, whats the cheapest theyve been, have they been on sale ever?
3. Are the DLCs needed to complete all achievements?

Just some things that would be good to know.
Lord Of War Aug 4, 2020 @ 1:35pm
You are bloody useless :D

Have you never used search?

If you dont own Rage 2, just google "rage 2 how much coins for terrormania"
"RAGE 2: TerrorMania is now available on all platforms. Download it from the in-game store for 500 RAGE Coins ($5), or pick up the RAGE 2: TerrorMania Deluxe upgrade for 1750 RAGE Coins ($17.50)."

If you own the game, in main menu press Store, and it will display cost in coins.
When at Rage 2 Steam Store, you can find different coins amount for different price.

If you need even more info, go to https://bethesda.net/en/article/cX7iWXU2VSAXxy1noD0Wz/rage-2-terrormania-expansion

I'll just stick to buying games that let my purchase the entire game in a single transaction
Yeah, you do that, or you can think a bit and realise that occasionally buying separately cost less, then in a bundle (doesn't apply to Rage 2 though).

Upd.
2. Whats the price, whats the cheapest theyve been, have they been on sale ever?
3. Are the DLCs needed to complete all achievements?
Again. Just use search. Doesn't seem you want the game at all. You want somebody to persuade you to buy it?

I made a discussion here in Rage 2 forums tracking sales. The biggest it went was in Feb 2020, when I got it for 75% discount.

Yes, DLCs needed for all achievements, again, you could have found that in guides, where separate sections were made mentioning them.

Guys, cmon)

Thx for putting the effort to post. Cheers.

- Well yes and no. Ive been indecisive abt getting this game pure on 'other' principles not specific to this game. So dont really know much other than its not as 'good' experience as the first game or at least not the same sort of experience.

Again. Thx for putting the info in one place. Gratefully appreciated.

EDIT: Regarding 'ever going on sale' I was referring to the dlcs or the one(s) that need the coins to be purchased. Ill do a search.

Have you ever seen a company pulling something like this in a way that benefits the customer ?

If you dont own Rage 2, just google "rage 2 how much coins for terrormania"
"RAGE 2: TerrorMania is now available on all platforms. Download it from the in-game store for 500 RAGE Coins ($5), or pick up the RAGE 2: TerrorMania Deluxe upgrade for 1750 RAGE Coins ($17.50)."

Steam puts its prices in my local currency. That Bethesda page does not.

I also note that you can't buy exactly 1750 coins. So saying that the TerrorMania Deluxe upgrade costs $17.50 is a lie, because you have to spend more than that to get enough coins to buy it.

Do you happen to have a source that isn't lying to customers ?

Just... buy Deluxe Edition directly from Steam, then purchase 500coins for Terrormania with whatever currency you're using. :awkward: You needlessly complicate things.

I gave you official sources. Search yourself for other ones. Just because the currency is different, doesn't mean they lying.

Ok. What I do is I wait until the entire game is at 75% off or more before buying it. Easy enough to do with a direct store purchase. Plenty of sites that can even track discounts across multiple stores. How do I track the discount on Terromania ?

I gave you official sources. Search yourself for other ones. Just because the currency is different, doesn't mean they lying.

Ok, lets take the lline I call a lie:
or pick up the RAGE 2: TerrorMania Deluxe upgrade for 1750 RAGE Coins ($17.50)."
Either you can purchase this for $17.50 as it states. Or it is a lie. There are no other options.

So how does one purchase the TerrorMania Deluxe upgrade for $17.50 or less ?

Remember, I'm not seeing the US prices for coins. If you give me those, I can do the math myself.
Bilateralrope Aug 4, 2020 @ 4:42pm
When I put Rage coins in my shopping cart, I see a message saying that they are "Not eligible for refund". Which is consistent with Steam refund policy:

REFUNDS ON IN-GAME PURCHASES
Steam will offer refund for in-game purchases within any Valve-developed games within forty-eight hours of purchase, so long as the in-game item has not been consumed, modified or transferred. Third-party developers will have the option to enable refunds for in-game items on these terms. Steam will tell you at the time of purchase if the game developer has opted to offer refunds on the in-game item you are buying. Otherwise, in-game purchases in non-Valve games are not refundable through Steam.

Bethesda have created a DLC purchase system that just happens to sidestep Steam Refunds. That's very suspicious.
SalanMH3 Aug 4, 2020 @ 10:29pm
Not going to support such systems, this could be an approach or starting point to something worse that Bethasda is thinking about. I can totally understand the in-game currency methods for F2P or MMO games, but for Singleplayer games?! Why?!

Another point, with this method, we will not get discounted DLCs unless if they discount the currency itself (which is rare I guess). We all hated Mass Effects trilogy DLCs for that reason, then EA ditched that method, but now Bethasda is using it, cmon...

I really love id games but it is a shame that Bethasda put it under some shady systems like this...
Lord Of War Aug 5, 2020 @ 1:57am
Yes, you may not be able to refund the coins. Haven't tried myself and not going to.
Neither DLCs, nor coins go on sale. Their price is as little as possible.
Speaking of sale - Rage 2 is 80% discount now.

I honestly don't understand why you keep sticking to these 1750coins. Why?) You dont own the game and say you can do the math, yet you fail to calculate the least painful way - get the Deluxe Edition and then purchase 500coins ONLY if you actually want the DLC and looking forward 100% completion.

A quick heads up for you here - Terrormania is very short DLC with... 6 locations to clear out + the final boss area, which can be done in one day.

Either you can purchase this for $17.50 as it states. Or it is a lie.
It's not a lie, if you buy a basic game, then suddenly decide to upgrade and get 500coins x4, because that is the nearest amount of the coins, then you end up with 250coins leftovers.
Doesn't matter what currency you use, steam automatically corrects the cost according to your region.
