RAGE 2

8 hours, 10 missions...disappointing
So to start off I should say, the game is pretty fun with good combat and lots of fluidity. I liked Rage, but to be honest it never left a big enough impression to demand a sequel. When I started to game I was immediately impressed. That is until you get to a part in the story where you have to level up each of the 3 leaders to level 5 by grinding side activities. It doesn't take too long, maybe an hour if your rushing to each bandit camp or whatever you want to do. I was enjoying the game until I beat it. I didn't actually think it was the end because i was only 8 hours in, but then the credits rolled and no other missions popped up after. It just left it open for a 3rd game.

Like the title said its only an 8 hour long game with 10 missions. After the tutorial you do 3 missions for each of the 3 leaders and then BAM last mission is available. You don't even need to unlock all the abilities or weapons to get there. Instantly I went from enjoying this game to being utterly disappointed. That is way too short for a modern open world game... I mean yes there are optional missions you can do, to unlock skills and weapons, but they are all the same objective, "Kill Everyone" so I decided to space them out in-between the story, but now thats said and done and so is my love of the game.

Honestly just wait for a $20 sale or something. I was lucky enough only to pay $40 on cdkeys, but I still feel that was overpriced.

You or someone explain that ending?? Why poison the guy...and where does id go with a 3rd? :/

The game felt rushed, and it felt like it was just an advertisement for their gunplay mechanics. And when you beat it and feel how short it is, you realize that this game is an investment for the 3rd. They make that painfully obvious after the credits roll.

It's NOT a bad game. It's just not a $60 dollar game [/quote]

You played the game wrong.

Just Cause 2 only had 8 or so story missions too. Gameplay was mainly about the side missions and causing chaos, which was why that game was so much fun.

This guy has obviously never played an Avalanche software game.

you can,t even count to 10...3 missions for every leader = 9 ? how do you come to 7 ?

Lololol you got me. Totally goofed on the math 😂😂 yea it's 10 missions if you count the finale.

I did a lot of side content as well, but all the objectives were just to kill everything and it got extremely repetitive. I'm still going to go through during the endame to finish some things. It just felt lackluster for all the 8s and 9s it's getting. Honestly should be a 6.5-7 which is still above average.

I think the main problem is that the final mission is when i started to feel somewhat invested and i assumed it was going to be the halfway point. Like you think you're going to win and then the boss pulls something out of his ass and you have to try again. But no, credits started rolling and i was just like, "oh...i beat it i guess...."

31 hours, no regrets here, I think is a matter of taste. I loved the Doom+Mad Max gameplay

36 hours and all is done, didn't bother with the melee cheevo's.

You missed so much combat gameplay by just rushing through the main missions.

This game is not a masterpiece but for a run and gun it is very nice. However you have go outside of the main missions if you want to get your moneys worth.

I agree. I like RAGE 2 due the graphics and satisfying combat but the game is thin on quests beside the main story line. After that you clear out enemy bases which is a bit repetitive.

36 hours to finish the 3 main quests for me....

,,,and i still had some of the content left, at least 4 arks, lots of side missions. I actually found 2 new trader towns, after i finished too.

I think you missed a lot of what the game had to offer. But...you can still have a go at the content you didn't experience. That's what I'm currently doing.

I did quite a few activities, but i just found them repetitive. It just felt a little short changed for an open world game. Especially with similar post-apocalyptic shooters just on the horizon
