RAGE 2

Switch the focus to toggle on and off, it works way better.
One of the things I didn't like about the game was the horrible implementation of the focus mode, the ctrl key was a joke of a spot to bind it to, but even after I reassigned it, it was still hit or miss. I switched it to toggle on and off in the General Game Settings menu, and after a few minutes of getting used to tapping it to use a skill, like dash, and holding it down for a second when I want to use focus to collect ferrite, it works MUCH smoother and I'm jumping all over the place and having a ton more fun in combat.

Worth a try to anyone who wasn't/isn't happy with how it behaves currently.

Glad its working for you. I found it best to leave it as non toggle, but with a mouse thumb key.

Did it always react for you? I had it on mouse7 and it only worked half the time until I set it to toggle.

I put mine on MMB. Makes skills more comfortable to trigger, and the dash ability easier to pull off.

It did for me. Just tapped for dash and held when i wanted to see enemies or grab/explode things.

That's weird, it only triggered for me half the time until I switched it.

Maybe game had another bind for your mouse7 key? Also gotta remember there is a cool down period for dashing, that was shortened after some 'upgrades' Could be you upgraded about the same time you switch setting??

Yeah, maybe it was a blind double bind, I know Metro had something like that where the binds would double up and one wasn't shown. It wasn't the cool down, for sure, it's night and day for me after I switched it!

That's so odd.
