Last but not least, can you check if the flicker goes away if you disable in-game SSAO?
Oh, hi Manuel - I can tell you that there were no changes made to the Nvidia settings except for "Max performance" in power settings.
Using the Ultra preset the game is offering.
Do the usual though, verify integrity of files, reinstall drivers or even use DDU and perform a clean install
Not sure if a 2000 series will work on drivers back that far though
Thank you. I am not sure if it is the same flicker but we were able to reproduce a flicker on a competitor card. If it is the same flicker people are seeing, it may or may not be a driver bug. We are still looking into it.
The flicker in movie 3 and 4 is almost completely gone today for both my wife and me. It only does flicker one or two times when running from inside the cave towards the exit and even this did not appear every time.
The flicker in the background seen two times in movie 6 also went away after I switched SSAO from "Ultra" to "Off" and then back to "Ultra".
This made me think that it actually was an SSAO issue but I found out by accident, when my wife changed a random setting in graphics settings (in the cave location in 3 and 4), the flickering also went away for a short time.
I am really wondering what exactly is causing this.
Last but not least I had a crash today for the first time when booting up the game :

Just started playing Rage 2 using Xbox Game Pass for PC and have the same problem on an AMD RX 580. Difference is that the flickering changed all the colors momentarily.
Changing the refresh rate to my monitor's refresh rate of 75 (it was 50 in the settings by default) and turning on V-Sync fixed the problem for me.
The thing is all other games (FH4, MetroExodus, AC:O ) run absolutely flawlessly ..
Have you tried enabling Vsync? Seems to be the biggest issue in this game.
Try that and else try fixed Vsync + 60 Hz
Ok after trying many other tips in Internet I fixed for me on RX 5600 XT, I hope works for other people.
-Borderless
-Resolution scale off
-Geometric details Ultra
-Depth of Field off
-Anti-aliasing FXAA
Don't ask me how it works cause I have not clue, I was trying to make the image less blurry and in the process the blinking annoying thing was gone, now playing without problems.
