RAGE 2

"Press Enter"
Cannot get past the title screen. The game loads fine and I get the various opening logos and warnings. Then it goes to an animation loop of game play and it says "Press Enter" at the bottom of the screen.

No matter what I press, nothing happens. Tried Enter, Space and ESC, plus every other key multiple times.

Bought the game yesterday and no issues on the install.
Used Steam to scan files for issues, none seen.
Video drivers at latest release.
Ran Rage 2 as Administrator
Firewall allows public and private traffic.

Hardware is a Threadripper and TitanXP running off a M.3 SSD. Performance is not an issue.

Anyone else seen this?

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me since I'm on the PC Xbox Game Pass version which relies on being signed into Xbox Live in order to start the game. It won't allow me to bypass the start screen until I'm online. This is unreal. Absolutely no mention of this on their forums/steam page at all. Wow.

My workaround is - before I hit enter on main screen - i pull the network cable. It does not crash and I am able to load the game. When game is loaded from save, I put the cable back again.

I also have XBOX game pass for PC.

This is actually the first response. So bad that I already got a refund from steam, as I guess so many others did.

i have been playing for over an hour without an issue. offline did not work for me. This did :

1 open cmd window through start menu and do ipconfig /release to disable network connection
2 start the game and load the save game
3 alt +tab
4 do ipconfig /renew to restore network connection
5 alt+tab or just go back to the game.
and everything will continue to work fine and you will have a functional network connection.

Tried 2 - 3 mins. ago, this solution worked for me, thx all. :winter2019cooldog::steamhappy:

Yeah what I did was wait a little longer at the press enter screen to wait for the Xbox Live sign-on. Then disable my network card, press enter, load save, then re-enable network card.

The problem is however, it seems achievements are not unlocking after this as I preformed some in game actions and no achievement unlocked. So I guess I'm just going to wait for them to fix this mess... if they ever do.

If anyone is looking for a less intrusive fix than the CMD, try this:

>Open Window's Defender Firewall with Advanced Security

>Select "Outbound Rules" on the left tab

>Select "New Rule" on the right tab

>Select "Program" on the new window that opened up

>Navigate to the program executable

>Select "Block Connection" on the next panel

>Name the rule something unique so you know to delete it later when the issue gets fixed.
