Perform scaling on the GPU
TICK the box for 'override the scaling mode set by games and programs'

(possibly relevant as both vulkan games, could be a vulkan API bug)

Okay soooo for some odd reason changing both my pc monitors to those settings didnt work , but changing my Television monitor to it did work eventhough its not even on

Lol, yeah, having multiple monitors plugged in is a risk even if they are de-activated. TV's are especially bad at reporting back to the PC that they are off in standby mode, and the occasional game will do something stupid with it (like Rage 2!). Who knows why it was calculating scaling from your TV, but I bet it was confused and decided to display on your TV after doing the calculation. If you turned it on, you probably would have seen rage playing on it.

Glad it worked though!

Didn't work for me on the Epic version :(

Edit: Oh, turned out that in my case the black screen was caused by MSI Afterburner's overlay. Game runs great after disabling it ... until it crashes once in a while, so far mainly in the cut scenes at the end of the first level (which is as far as I played.). Lowering settings let me finish the level and start the new one, so maybe it was running into my 1050 ti's 4GB VRAM cap. Wish I could get Afterburner Overlay working to know for sure...

I was able to fix the black screen with audio issue with first troubleshooting by unplugging hdmi monitor cable first, then starting game to see if it was an issue with that. After I confirmed that was the issue, I was able to go into the game's settings and set it to windowed mode, and that fixed the problem. I use windowed mode for everything because my older monitor doesn't jive 100% with my newer laptop. Anyway, if you're able to run the game without monitor hooked up, going to the game setting menu in the game itself will give some options for a fix.
