enemy health bars
At first, thanks for all the hard work put into all these updates!
Every time it takes me a while to get used to all the new feats.

One thing I personally don't like is the health bar appearing above enemies that you hit.
To me it makes DRG feel more like a 'game', and less like the excellent immersive quest through beautiful caves with faint glowing lights in the distance.
The bright colors of the health bar stand out too much, which is imo harmful for the (excellent!) aesthetics of the game.

Another point I would like to add is, that the current health bar only shows the health of the specific ONE glyphid I just hit. This is nice to know when sniping a lone webspitter for example, but generally speaking the threat in DRG lies in waves, not in sole enemies.
My point is that, when I'm fighting a wave of enemies, how does the healthbar of a single glyphid going to change my decisions on how to fight (or flee from) the wave as a whole? I think its not enough information, making the health bar imo abundant.

Actually, I think DRG already had a nice way of showing the health of glyphids: the broken armour and exposed flesh! This already gave a pretty good estimation of the (general) health-status of a wave! Many broken armours means an easy kill of the wave, clean armours means more effort to kill the wave.
In conclusion, the old system was to me already a smart way of informing the players about the health status of the wave (not of only a single glyphid), while not harming the aesthetics of the game.
Perhaps a way to give players more information on health, would be to expand the modelling/texturing of damaged glyphids.

Pretty sure you can turn off the enemy health bars in the UI tab in options.

Thats a valid point Slate.

Although (still) I wouldn't like to have to make the trade between graphic appreciation and gameplay-information (like in shooters where players turn of the grass-graphics to be able to see their opponents better).
Also, new players might enjoy the visuals less if the health bar is on by default.

I personally like the new health bar.
I personally think the new health bar rocks. Let’s see how they put that together with the armor/shields bar in the latest experimental build.

Me and the guys i play with, we dont like the new health bar at all - too much clutter on the screen. If that gets added to the normal build at least give us an option to turn it off please.

EDIT:
I guess we already have under UI an option to turn it off under enemy health. Tried to play without it but then of course without any health bar u miss a lot of important information.
