Core Stone event - too trivial with ziplines + C4
Doesn't even matter which difficulty. Winning strategy:

1. Gunner places 2+ ziplines for the party to jump on (outside of melee range)
2. Someone starts the event, everyone stays on ziplines
3. Enemies can't really reach you - they seem to jump but that doesn't do damage, so everyone is essentially immune to them
4. Everyone focuses damage on the core stone heart
5. Once the corestone re-materializes, driller can throw a C4 on it to instantly re-reveal the heart.
5b. Alternatively, gunner can throw a shield around it for someone to safely open it again with the pickaxe or drills
6. Rinse and repeat

I'm not sure if it's the best design if the enemies can be 100% ignored, in any difficulty.
Yes, ziplines are very good at making melee enemies useless but normally you have some ranged enemies as well or some reason to leave the zipline shortly but with this event, you just hang out on it for the whole duration, which seems un-fun and exploitative.

On the plus side, it's one of a few cases where the zipline really shines.

In any case, maybe some redesigning is in order to improve the actual experience for this event.

So what is the suggestion/idea here? Just making a list telling how to beat the event is neither.

Next update: Crawlers can hit players on ziplines.

No suggestion, just wanted to say that it's kind of broken.

Is that planned for real?

So this is in the wrong place then.

yeah they should allows crawlers to do an attack jump which deals damage and knockback on hit

The whole core stone is a bit one dimensional because you only have 1 enemy type and the core stone just has one special ability, if you can even call it an ability because it's just an invulnerability phase

The corestone has this shockwave in between the stages, they should just have knockback added to that so that dwarves have more incentive to not be on ziplines when that happens. It would make the zipline approach less of a cheese and more of a strat with built in risks imo.

you can just re-grab the zipline when you get knocked off so this would do basically nothing

personally I think zipline camping on the corestone being so common is a symptom of the actual problem which is killing crawlers is basically pointless with how quickly they respawn and how much ammo they consume, hence why common recommendations outside of ziplines are to distract, fear, stun, or delay crawlers instead of killing them efficiently

Not that I'm aware of.

Might be in their plans, though, for all we know.

My guess is (like pox enemies) there will be other foes to compliment them...
As soon as there is a fat chaingunner flyer or foes with a grapple tackle in the mix, would be a tad brutal for folk who struggle to find battle strats around it initially with the pressure that gets applied when the event starts...

This event was honestly more fun when it first came out and nobody had any strategies for it yet. Just pure chaos.

Now I just sigh internally whenever coming across a core stone and someone types in chat: "wait, ziplines first." When I'm the Gunner, I secretly hope nobody mentions it before we start.

The problem is the core stone event is a problem in itself as people want to just cheese it because its not fun to do in a normal way.
