Add an option to disable voice lines from the dwarves and mission control
Unpopular opinion incoming!

I want a way to disable the voice lines from the dwarves. I want this for two reasons:
1: I've only just started playing and they're already becoming old. I don't like hearing "Rock and stone!" every single time my team accomplishes something, and I've heard "Step one, cover Rockpox boils with foam" too many times to count during just one Rockpox mission.
2: It's more important to me to hear if there's a Glyphid coming at me instead of the dwarves' meaningless voice lines on top of said Glyphid.
3: There are subtitles anyways, so it's not like I'd be missing out on any vital information anyways.

Right now, there's no way to disable voice lines without taking every single other sound effect with them. So please, let me disable them separately.

Leaf lover.
It does get annoying so I use a mod that blocks cursing and a few other lines. So I still hear a few but its no where as much as before. https://drg.old.mod.io/no-profanity-mod
doesn't options have a "character sounds" option you can set to 0% I just checked and it does mute the dwarves, or does that also take out glyphid noises as well?

if thats the case maybe you can request a modder make what you want
FOR ROCK AND STONE!
If you don't rock and stone you ain't coming home!

I will see if it mutes the dwarves, thanks. I thought there wasn't any way from what I read.

The way I worded it made it sound like I didn't Press Right Control Stick Now™. I do, I just don't like doing it.

Hmm.... why not though? I do not think it would take very long for them to split the different audio effects up into more groups/channels and then assign those to additional audio settings.

Even if it's a minimal amount of work, the demand is so small; I don't think it's worth doing.

Maybe. It would ultimately be up to the devs though, and I certainly won't mind it. :)
Seems like a fair suggestion.
But disabling the ''rock and stone!'' voicelines is not something i want to see in the game personaly.
But how will you know you're rich?

+1
+1 for a setting to turn off most of dwarf voice lines that trigger automatically (random banter and lines based on activity).

While keeping "rock and stone" from manual input, enemy & resource call-outs and some mission related lines.
i would actually like a "classic dialogue" option that removes all the unfunny marvel-tier quipping they've added to the game since 1.0 onwards and only keeps the dialogue from the early access period
not just because the differences in mic quality and javier's voice are notably different between voicelines which is distracting, but i miss the days when rock & stone actually meant rock & stone and not YOU GUYS ARE SO HECKIN WHOLESOME :DDDDD

something like this would be nice

not exactly the same but I've always wanted a sort of "personality" option that you maybe select in the wardrobe that turns off/makes certain voicelines more common

so an example could be a "serious" personality could use a lot of the older voicelines, maybe a few of the sillier voicelines where applicable

the idea of just swapping to older classic voicelines would also work, I've been using a mod that replaces or silences a lot of the newer "meme heavy" voicelines but honestly it doesn't get rid of all of them
