Just disable the outline on the laser pointer when every objective that needs a cleansing pod is completed. Don't take away my lithofoamer, please.
That's also not a bad way of handling it. Though they would also need to be taken out of the Terrain Scanner.
Incidentally, my first couple of suggestions would technically achieve what you're asking for. In that case, you'd only lose the tools if you or someone else consciously put them away before returning the Pod. I didn't see a good way to account for that, so I chose to leave it up to player discretion.
Honnestly putting this much effort into such a little thing, is like throwing a nuke on a fly.
The original couple of suggestions, sure. I did overthink those. The last one, though, should be simple enough to do. Like I said - Hacking Pods already behave like that. Although like I also said - getting rid of the outlines would also work.
You explained the issue with the pod outlining being annoying clutter on your scanner, yet you need the entire pod removed as well for what reason?
The suggested sollution of just removing the outlines for the pod fixes the issue you explained. So what other issues do you have with the pod existing?
