Save Doretta because you want, not because you have a reward if you do.
If any players don't want to bring back her head because "satisfaction" isn't enough reward for the effort spent, that's perfectly fair, they can leave her behind.
If the devs add a reward for it, it's effectively no different from a Secondary Objective; completely optional but everyone will feel as though they need to do it to maximize gains.
I was one of the first people to suggest allowing us to bring Doretta's head back, and at the time I suggested a small reward for doing so. But in hindsight, I'm glad the developers didn't take that route. Being purely optional is a better system, imo.
Now that's a good idea.
Make it worth 1 credit, do it devs.
For those who don't have fun doing it, they get to leave it behind and not lose out on any potential bonuses.
Win-win situation.
for those who don't have fun doing it, they have to suffer for their team's incompetence because the team cares more about a meaningless lump of metal than actually getting home
If having to wait 1-2 minutes more for the guy carrying the head (and that's if they're REALLY slow and don't know how to throw + sprint), then that sounds like a you problem. If you're really so angry about it, just kick them or TK 'em. Problem solved. It's not like you're gonna die waiting in the drop pod with the 99.9% damage reduction.
Plus, devs aren't going to ever budge on their decision. So I don't know why you keep complaining about it. Angry man yells at clouds, I guess.
Nice necro.
