Welcome to the deep dark! This ain't a little kids' game, please grow up and treat it like a horror game. It's MEANT TO BE CREEPY.
The dwarves themselves say as much. It's normal and meant to be this way.
It's a hazard of sorts for the radioactive biome, it's meant to freak you out.
If you have such a massive issue with it, just get a mod that changes how they look.
Good chance there's gotta be at least one that does so.
I understand it's an irrational fear, but you can't just magically "grow out" of all of them. That's why they're irrational.
That said, luckily this game provides you with completely destructible... everything. You can destroy any bugs or terrain you don't like. There's a difference between learning to manage your fears, and just completely avoiding them. OP and Hungy should find healthy ways to manage them, but I at least agree that just shutting them out entirely will not help.
But I'm not sure how likely it is to actually happen. I would suppose that too few people would need such a feature, and thus the devs would probably choose to spend their time elsewhere. But maybe I'm wrong!
Best of luck to OP and those in the same boat, however things turn out
They scawe me.
Heard the term "viewer discretion is advised" play before a television broadcast for some flick with adult, horror or violent themes starts?
This game has themes intended for mature audiences. Gamer discretion is advised.
The spooky and creepy stuff is intended to be spooky and creepy. It's not "irrational", it's that way by design.
Treat it like you would if you were said dwarf: Burn it with fire and mash it to an unrecognizable pulp... Or steel your mind to the non-threat and focus on the mission.
This is an aspect of the game that is meant to mess with you, it's meta beyond a mere jumpscare.
It is a disturbing, creeping horror meant to unsettle you. Take it as you will, but to say "I don't want this in the game" on the basis of it being creepy alone is childish and silly.
Being freaked out by it is normal. Approaching it with caution is fair.
Demanding it be pruned to prevent you even seeing it to start with is weak sauce.
If you're so afraid of the eyes to this extent, just... Don't go to the radioactive zone.
Alternatively, wait til you're a bit older to play the game. It's violent, dark and filled with ugly short men; it's not made for children or those with weak mental fortitude.
So... Unfortunately, you are wrong + ratio'd.
