forgive me fellow miner
Some stuff to decorate your bedrooms would be nice though!
Turned out the game was less this and more a frentic, chaotic loveable Arcade game which you could pick up and go. Still the game can create some of my most epic game moments. There is a certain simplexity that comes with the incredible concept of DRG.
Don't bind the player to too many rules and restrictions.
Don't force players to read every Wiki article just to stay on track of what's going on in the game.
Give the player a chance and a reason to break through linearity.
I love it.
Sure, maybe it wouldn’t be a good fit for DRG, but I don’t see the harm in it.

Upgrading the rig is really the same as giving you a 5th object to buy cosmetics for. It's just more stuff to buy with your minerals, more reason and incentive to do missions and it helps you to easily choose what missions to do based on your lowest resource.
It's EA so I think it's fair to say that could easily change if they chose to. But you could just say that the area is your personal area on the space rig. The space rig could be something massive, having hundreds or thousands of these areas. I mean, I never see any other dwarves that aren't a part of my mission around.
This statement is so subjective. There is a huge base of players that enjoy base building in video games, including myself. Base building is a giant selling point for me that I spend money on.
