(Season 5)Seasonal cosmetic matrix cores removed, no replacements given

i understood that they were supposed to be replaced with non-seasonal cosmetic cores, yet i lost 40 cores and they are just gone, not replaced by anything. i feel super scammed honestly

Bug report has been made and is linked below, enough people have confirmed it to have it investigated, still, if you are experiencing this, please contribute.

Devs also responded on stream and are aware of the issue. I'm sure it'll get fixed once more critical bugs have been fixed.

Um... no? The cores you had were removed and are now Season Rewards again. The rewards that can now be found in Chests and Lost Equipment are brand new. They were never going add new equipment in the place of the cores you had. They've been warning about this for a while now, and the past 2 weeks, they've stated when you open the game that if you want your seasonal rewards forged to do it ASAP before season 5. You should not be missing any non-season cores, though. If any of your cores were non-seasonal, that'd be a different story.

and Minerals to Forge Them, But Were 'Collecting' Them for Some Reason

It's in the FAQ posted on April 8th. The latest post on June 4th right before the season update also contains a link to the FAQ which gives every reason to think that this imformation was and still is correct:

If you’ve got Matrix Cores infused with any seasonal cosmetics, those will be removed from your inventory and placed back into their respective Performance Passes and Cosmetic Trees when Season 05 launches. In return, we’ll give you a different Matrix Core, this one infused with a non-seasonal cosmetic item. If you’ve already unlocked and forged ALL non-seasonal cosmetics, you’ll get some crafting resources instead.

There's nothing dumb about my logic. I was holding on to them for the exact reason I quoted from the FAQ above.

I am actually perfectly fine with that and look forward to playing through all the seasons I missed. I would much rather have the cosmetics come from their appropriate pool so the cores don't feel wasted on things I can get in other places.

Anyways, it appears that the bug has been confirmed by many others. The DRG Team will address it eventually. They're pretty good about responding to confirmed reports on that site.

That's okay. I think you're right, the fact that they didn't mention it outside the FAQ is probably why a lot of people missed it. I got a lot of reactions exactly like yours when I put all my posts up.
