Deep Rock Galactic
FPS drops after ~35 min on Linux(Ubuntu)
Played almost 900 hours, had no problems with that. After 30-40 min FPS just drops down to 25-40 without any reason. 3060 nvidia, tried proton, experimental, with and without dx12. Only restart helps.

Game run smoothly without any bug for some time (even with a lot of units) then suddenly fps become unstable (lag/stutter) for no reason and if i return to the rig : same issue !
Only restarting game fix this until it appears again.

Linux/Proton isn't actually officially supported, so don't hold your breath for any tech support; just saying.

900 hours man. Its like playing Native version. Something happened, maybe small bug idk. You think devs are bad people just like Destiny 2 guys? I hope not

It generally just works, but it's not supported.

It's not about being bad guys, but they prolly aren't gonna bug fix for a platform they don't actually offer support for; you're on your own I'm afraid.

So you won't scratch your nose to make 5 random ppl happier, just because they are not from your party?

Why are you asking me? I'm not a developer.

But no, I wouldn't troubleshoot for a platform I don't support; sorry not sorry.

it appears that some windows users have this bug

A. That's a pretty baseless assumption, performance issues stem from a myriad of reasons; and even similar results may not have similar causes especially on two different OS.

B. Even if they are, then those Windows users can make their own bug reports and expect technical support as a supported platform; including an unsupported platform in the reports just muddies the waters.

Maybe you guys should focus on actually helping eachother troubleshoot as Linux users, instead of getting butthurt that it's not officially supported?

No one's coming to help you, you need to help eachother; that's what I've been trying to tell you.

LoL! The only guy who is butthurting here - is you. So, leave this topic alone. We are also helping you. You may not see this small bug, cos of your system, but one day, through changes it may occur on your side. So, why not fix it BEFORE.

i'm trying some different version of proton like experimental or older version.
comments incoming soon

Tried on arch, deb and ubuntu based distros, different (ge)protons, dx 11-12 - same issue. After 1 mission i have to restart game, or deal with bug on 2nd mission. Bug triggers every 30-35 min

I'm sorry that I.. *checks notes* ..tried to politely inform you that Linux/Proton aren't officially supported, in case you weren't aware of that, in order to manage your expectations; and point you on a more productive path to actually fixing your issue.

safe mode (with proton experimental) doesn't help at all :
launch game 15h25, enter mission 15h33, my mate and me lag/stutter @ 15h59.
We failed our mission 30 min later with 30 min of lag/stutter, respawn in the infirmary in the base and keep our lag/stutter. so we restart game again.

@Dworfkin : do you play solo or multiplayer ?

Solo. If i keep playing with lags, FPS drops continues down to 5-10 fps in 5-10 min
