So, apparently, DRG doesn't clean up AppData\Local\Temp after itself.
I suddenly realised my drive C:\ bloated from 60 gigs to a whooping 90 and I went to clean up the garbage. And in the process I got into clearing out temporary files, which basically made up half of that mess.

And there was EVERY. SINGLE. MOD. UPDATE. I. EVER. RECIEVED. IN THIS BLOODY GAME.

Alongside over a hundred of crash logs (which barely weighed anything to be fair) there was a zip file of every mod version I have ever installed OR UPDATED in DRG.

It all bloated up to over 11 gigabytes of garbage, most of which was made up by differrent mod versions being stored on the drive.

Ayo, devs, that sounds like a pretty damn noticable issue.

Sure enough, 1.6 GB in my temp folder. Not sure if this is DRG's fault or mod.io's fault but it is a pretty big oversight if that folder really does never get cleaned.

Guess I'll add it to my list of places to routinely clean via script.
I have 224MB of zip files in there. Those look like they're all from DRG. For me the whole folder has 1,036 items and takes up 3.37 GB of space. There's a lot of empty folders in there but I'm not seeing what's taking up all that space. This is a rats nest I didn't know I had.

For anyone not sure about where this is:
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Temp
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp
Honestly, for any sane user the weight of DRG mods in there shouldnt be over 2 gigs.
Foolish would be to assume I am sane, however.
You can set up Windows to clear temp files for you.
The folder is at /steamapps/compatdata/548430/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Temp for any fellow Linux gamers who find their way here.

Nah, 50 meme mods or you're not a real gamer.

I am pretty sure I am not supposed to be MANUALLY forcing temporary files to be deleted from a hidden folder, that ordinary user isn't even supposed to know of to not break anything, because some funny game I paid for and downloaded decides to bloat memory on drive C:\.

Look, over 50% of people who are using Windows OC know 3 parts in their computer: keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Oh, and theres also a funny box doing MMMMM noises under the table. Even less so more-or-less understand how tf operating system works.

Now how many people play games? ALOT. How many of these people are just children or your generic person, who uses his PC exclusively to write email for job purposes, sit in twitter for memes (or idk why people are using it), and play his favorite games with friends or family once in a while?

Now all the people who don't know what the hell "Temp" folder even is will now suddenly have 2, 5, 10 and however many "ghost" gigs of drive space constantly consumed by their funny game. They never had to know what "Temp" folder is because it was working properly and get cleared by programs that are using it, so they DON'T know.

And for anyone who isn't exactly smart enough to figure out Temp folder exists, this error with mod-io mods bloating space is an issue pretty much worthwhile fixing.
I would say that you are supposed to learn at least the basics about the machine you're using, like with everything else in life if you don't you'll have to take it to a shop or enlist the help of a relative/friend/professional.

Also, mods are a third party thing. You're supposed to take some responsibility for choosing to play with them, not obsolving all responsibility because you're a child or not fully computer literate.
Night_Sniper is still right. This is a lot of bloat that players will not be expecting and most wont notice. Getting rid of the mod means getting rid of it all, right? When does the stuff in this temp folder get cleaned? Apparently a LOT of programs clean up after themselves by emptying their sub-folder contents. If DRG never cleans out this folder then that's digital littering.
