I Play mostly Solo, so I'm often Choosing a Mission, then I 'Sit' on it, then I go do something else or watch something in an attempt to see If I get a more Favorable Mission for a Required Assignment after 15-30 Mins, depending where the Game/Mission Timer is
Usually, 100% of the Time I could come Recheck the Mission Board once the Timer had flipped over after 30 Mins- But since Mid-November I'd guess for Me, there is now maybe
a 10-25% Chance that even though the Timer has ticked down after 30 Mins, and the Timer will be reset and counting down again, The Mission I Chose is still up, as is normal, but there has been NO CHANGES for ANY of the Missions, when they usually all will have a New, Different Set of Missions- I will have to Exit to Desktop, and upon Reloading Up DRG,
still within the same 30 Min Window, The Missions will then be Reassigned, as they usually should do
There's something Odd going on where Choosing a Mission now 'Locks' the Mission Terminal Up, unless you Exit and Reload- Or I also Found, You can Go On the Mission, Instantly Abort, and then all the Missions will Reassign- And it also seems to Vary- I'll only have the 'Mission Lockup' 10-25% of the Time, nowhere near Every Time, but when it does 'Glitch' Like that,
it's Persistent, unless I Exit Out, wait a bit, then Reload DRG- The Going Down on a Mission and Aborting Bit WILL 'Force' the Mission Resets, but If I Choose a Mission and wait for 30 Mins again after that, they will stay 'Locked' again
Usually I'm with ya Derpy, but before, Like the OP, I could Usually Always Choose a Mission and then wait it out for 30 Mins or Less to see a 'Reroll' for a Chance for a more Favorable Mission, or just Continue On with the Mission I First Chose- I've been doing that Solo, for Years, which Is why it was Noticable and Jarring when the Mission 'Lock' started happening sometimes around Mid-November- It was Jarring enough I did 'Tests' with the Exit and Reloading, Going and then Aborting a Mission, and other Tests- I Know How now, and CAN 'Manually' Reset the Mission Terminal on the Occasions it happens, but I Shouldn't HAVE TO- It's always been an Automatic Function before
Until recently. I'm guessing that it might have to do with turning off season 4.
(I just went to make an official bug report to the devs, and I found someone else who has posted about it already: https://drg.pleasefix.gg/projects/DEEP-ROCK-GALACTIC/issues/DRG-1753. At the top it says "1 reproduction required to confirm" so if one more person can add their experience there, perhaps a dev will take a look).
For myself, I haven't reached the point where I can Opt to Turn Off the Season 4 Content,
so that can't be it, but it might be SOMETHING that's been added on in the Last couple
of Months- Maybe when the Devs Fix whatever the Hotfix Mystery is that maybe will be
part of it (fingers crossed)
I'll go to that Link as well and Let them know I also have had this Issue
to what I've Experienced as I Posted on here- So there's some Backup Testimony
to Help You, Me, and those Other Players Out I Hope
Rock and Stone
I'm not entirely sure how the site works, but I just noticed it still says it needs '1 more reproduction.' If not, I think the post just gets dropped / ignored - it only has 6 hours left currently. https://drg.pleasefix.gg/projects/DEEP-ROCK-GALACTIC/issues/DRG-1753
1. People being less likely to join my mission if I start one close to the rollover time. As soon as it ticks over, any players looking to join a game will no longer be searching within the mission pool for which I'm playing. This means if I select a mission at 2 minutes before the re-roll and nobody joins, I now have to restart in order to get the new mission in the pool.
2. Making sure me and a friend are on the same mission when going through assignments together.
3. Simply waiting for a more favorable mission. Be it rerolling a biome or warning I dislike, or just re-rolling to get a season challenge to line up.
4. "Holding" a mission just before the re-roll, giving your party the option to switch to the new one or stick with the old one. This was just a nice thing to have!
And if this was an intentional change because the latter point was somehow "cheating", then it's a pretty weak measure that only introduces a slight annoyance (resetting/rejoining) that also affects normal play.
