A. Dx12 is a standard Steam launch option offered for DRG, you don't need to manually add the -dx12 tag.
B. For most users, unless they have a low end computer; performance will actually be better on Dx12 vs 11 in DRG.
C. I've been using Dx12 for DRG for literally a thousand or more hours, never crashed.
continuing to use DX12 because it runs way better for me
Fix your potato.
FOR KARL!!! :D
Of course we don't need to add those shortcut command like -dx12 or -dx11 because you can launch it with steam launch options before start to play the game, which is really cool.
Yes, you are wrong.
You and one friend crashing is circumstantial at best, confirmation bias at worse.
You really shouldn't be telling other players not to use it based on that.
GTA IV was the single game that crashed when I had SLI; (The solution was disabling the GPUs factory overclocks)
Killing Floor was a single crashing game I had on an old laptop; (The solution was rolling back the RAM XMP)
Horizon Zero Dawn PC had a crap ton of crashing issues for me; (The solution was again turning off the GPU factor overclock)
So fix or troubleshoot your potato. Or stay ignorant, and pretend you have any knowledge.
1. By using the "enable overclocking" option in the LACT GUI. This will create a file in /etc/modprobe. d that enables the required driver options.
2. Specifying a boot parameter. You can manually specify the amdgpu. ppfeaturemask=0xffffffff kernel parameter in your bootloader to enable overclocking.
Yes, this is according to github websites from https://github.com > ilya-zlobintsev > LACT
I'm getting annoyed about everyone accusing me of lying about DX12.
DX12 cannot be stable enough.
You not going to know about a difference for DirectX versions
It will be better if the game uses either DirectX 11 or Vulkan.
And it's not circumstantial at best, confirmation bias at worse. I swear.
Tons of players also use Dx12 with no issues. The problem is your hardware or software, not Dx12.
Please stop pretending to be some kind of expert, when you clearly don't know much about it; it's not a good look man.
Finally, it sounds like you're running on Linux, which is the much likelier issue with you crashing on Dx12 in DRG; since DRG doesn't support Linux except through Proton.
## Hardware Information:
- **Hardware Model:** MSI MS-7984
- **Memory:** 32.0 GB
- **Processor:** Intel® Core™ i7-6700K × 8 (4.00 GHz)
- **Graphics:** AMD Radeon™ RX 6650 XT (8GB VRAM)
- **Disk Capacity:** 2.2 TB
This hardware can run DirectX 12 just fine because a of the GPU is very well enough, it's just the software of DirectX version is not reliable for Unreal Engine 4. So the hardware is not an issues at all.
