Deep Rock Galactic

Can't join lobbies and others can't join mine
Title explains it. For a few days now I have been unable to join any lobbies. It always loads for a moment and then says "Multiplayer session ended" or some error message. I can host lobbies, but nobody has joined ever since this started happening. Uninstalled any mods I had, reinstalled the game, rebooted Steam, but nothing helped.

Any ideas?

Oh man, technical issues are my kryptonite - I have almost no understanding. I followed instructions as well as I could, and didn't see anything glaringly wrong, though my judgement may be poor. No idea about anything else now.

Did you already verify the game files integrity? Always worth a try, in my book.

Also, if you haven't already, I'd turn off your router for 3 minutes or so, and then restart Steam/your PC.

Did both. Sadly, the issue is still around.

Double Nat is relatively easy to physically spot. If you plugged a router into a router with no extra configuration you created a double NAT.

Oversimplification:
What happens is the plugged in router thinks the original router is the internet. When it is not causing odd issues with online games and certain programs.

Shameless bump.

Has anyone with this same problem had any luck with solving this? Month is nearing it's end and I still can't do anything in multiplayer. I have tried absolutely everything and nothing works. Searched Reddit, Discord, Steam forums, but nothing.

If I can't get it to work in the coming days, I might just have to forget about the game for a while and come back some day to see if the issue still persists. So frustrating when you really like the game.

Antivirus blocking DRG maybe? Have heard of others having that problem.

Not much we can do on our side, it's up for devs to fix the problem. My game rarely crashes but I get CONNECTION LOST all the time which makes it impossible to play in other people's lobbies or with friends as you lose all the progress and can't reconnect. I uninstalled the game till networks issue is resolved.

Each time there's a major patch (and even some minor ones) there's a risk of setting off some antivirus programs that then end up blocking the game. I've seen it in pretty much every single online game I've played.

I uninstalled the game till networks issue is resolved.

And you'll magically know when it's fixed I take it? Or will you simply be browsing the forums once in a while and when a certain time has passed without any complains you'll come back?

Not all people use AV, and moreover not all people are even playing on Windows. Just because you heard somewhere that it might be AV related doesn't mean that everyone has it exactly the same. If it was blocked by any Windows AV you won't be even able to launch it. If you really want to help at least purpose OP to check firewall settings or router settings. But the issue is, in fact, not with our internter connection or firewall, it's the game that has unstable networking and with the latest patch it has become unplayable for some people.

I have explored every last inch of my antivirus and could not find anything suggesting it was blocking DRG.

Check windows Firewall. Im assuming you are using windows10, type firewall in taskbar menu and it will show Firewall and network protection - click it - a new window will open - click "Allow and app through firewall". Check the list, Deep rock galactic should have both checkmarks.

Checked - all in order there.

Are there any problems with other steam multiplayer games? If it's not blocked by windows FW and other games work fine, the one can assume the issue is within DRG itself. Also, when you host a game don't forget to host a public game (there are 3 options, solo - it will not alow anyone to join, friends-only and public).

All other games work perfectly fine. And yup, specifically setting it to public doesn't work.
