This is actually an uncommon Bug that happens every now and again- for me especially in the past Menaces would trigger this, but the Menace popping out of walls was fixed a Lot recently and it's been rarer
I'm not sure what causes it, but sometimes there is just to much graphically going on with the game and it triggers in a few ways - -
-the "E" function will "flicker" or just no Longer work- depositing in Molly, setting up Engie Turrets, grabbing a Zipline, repairing Mini-Mules or the Uplink or Fuel Pod- just plain ANY "E" function will be delayed or not work
-with that, usually a number of enemies will be "invulnerable" - most forms of damage will do nothing, and Solo, Bosco can't and won't target them- another strange quirk is that the Pickaxe won't damage them, BUT a Power Pickaxe Strike WILL- also Bosco's guns won't hurt them, but his Rockets WILL (I once Limped out a Mission Success doing this, but it Majorly Sucked)
-Grates on the Rigs for Point Extraction and Refinery will become Insubstantial- they're there and you can see them, but you'll fall right thru- usually this will Mission Fail as you can't physically activate the button to Launch the Rocket (also the "E" function is usually glitchy combined with this 99% of the time) If you're Lucky to have an Engineer, you can Layer his Platforms over the Grates to reach it
-Along with the Grates, you can fall through the deck plating of the Drop Pod, resulting in Mission Fail- again, Engineer's Platforms can work here, but not always- sometimes the Pod has just Risen around me and Left me behind on an Engie Platform
Usually, 99% of the time, you're just screwed, and the mission can not be competed-
Most of the time, I recognize the many forms of this Glitch and just Abort if it persists for more than 5 minutes
This is an unfortunate thing that sometimes happens, was usually about once every 40 missions or so- but Yeah, it's happening a LOT more frequently- Like once every 8 missions now- hit me yesterday on a Salvage Mission, took forever to "E" repair the 2nd Mini-Mule, and the "E" repair ceased altogether for the Uplink- wouldn't have made it anyway, as there were 6-8 "undamagable" Grunts, and any swarm waves would have made it impossible to stay in the Green Zone
I've Documented This Occurance Many Times, On Many Posts-
While I Unofficially Called It 'The Menace Glitch', as That Is/Was a Frequent Cause Of It,
It CAN HAPPEN During Other Situations as Well- The Game Will Experience a Problem, Usually 'Lag' or 'Stutter' for a Moment, and Then Any or All of What I Describe Above Can Happen- It Can Be the 'E' Never Working, Falling Through the Grate/Floor of the Rig on Point Extraction or Refinery, or a Group of Enemies That Are Apparently Invulnerable and Can No Longer Take Damage Or Be Killed- If Your Really Unlucky It Can Be ALL Of THOSE and More
Thankfully the Devs Have Patched This Issue So That IT IS RARE Nowadays-
Unfortunately, Those Rare Times It Dos Happen You're Pretty Much Screwed-
There Is a Very Small Chance That the Mission Will Revert Back To Normal, But That Hardly Ever Happens- I Believe I Got a Mission To Revert Maybe Twice, and On One of Them I Still Had an Invulnerable Pack of Grunts Hounding Me the Rest of the Mission- If It's an 'E' Function No Longer Working for Multiple Uses, That Never Reverts and You Just Have To Abort the Mission
So a Thankfully, Now, Rare Glitch- But It's Still There In the Background Code, and If It Does Happen, 99% of the Time You're Sadly Screwed- Just Quit Out and Redo the Mission, or Just Take a Break and Exit DRG as You're Probably Frustrated and Angry, and Rightfully So
