Perhaps, changing the game install location to a different drive might help, too.
I used to play this title flawlessly a couple of months ago, WTH happened?
edit: Working now after I verified the file cache and repaired something
The problem has persisted through GPU and CPU changes. I went from a GTX 960 to a 2060, and an AMD FX-8350, to a Ryzen 7 3500x. It crashes to desktop. I've tried reinstalling, verifiying game cache, changing my launch settings, reinstalling directx, and mostly everything on the pinned thread for common crash issues. I'm going to try a few more things tonight. Any help would be appreciated.

Delete the entire game directory, then re-verify with Steam. Make sure to back up saves if you have any progress

Check if you have a page file and if not enable it (This was more a rare unreal 2004 problem, but who knows):

If the game is on a mechanical HDD try error checking:

See if the thing will launch in Windows Safe mode:

I know I'm a little late, but I've tried everything on here except DDU and nothings worked. I did have Disk errors, and missed page files, fixed them, and it still won't work. I'm going to try DDU now but I have a hunch as to what my answer is going to be. I'm completely lost right now.
